Laura
Vincent Vallières Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Me semble que tout ça
Me ressemble pas
Me semble que tout ça
Me ressemble pas
J'me sens tout mélangé Laura
Les jours ont perdu leur éclat
Les jours ont perdu leur éclat
Y me reste juste toi dans ces temps-là
Dis-moi que la vie est pas si pire
Dis-moi qu'un jour je vais en rire
Tout finit par passer
Dis-moi que l'amour se peut encore
Dis-moi que mon chien est pas mort
Viens donc passer la veillée
The song "Laura" by Vincent Vallières is a beautiful expression of feeling lost, confused, and disconnected from the world. In the first verse, he expresses his feeling of not belonging, saying that he feels mixed up and that nothing seems to resemble him. He feels out of breath, and he's chasing after something that he can't identify. In these moments, he craves comfort and security, longing for Laura to wrap her arms around him and tell him that everything is okay.
As the song progresses, Vincent continues to seek solace from Laura, asking her to tell him that he's not alone in feeling this way. He wants her to reassure him that it's okay to want something different from everyone else around him. He wants to know that she understands him and believes that there is a brighter future ahead. Through his lyrics, Vincent speaks to the universal human experience of feeling lost and alone, even when surrounded by others.
