The power foursome then moved to commune, create and rehearse amongst the famed musical lore of Laurel Canyon. Within two weeks of rehearsals in early 2010, the group quickly began playing local shows and late night speakeasies. Led by timeless vocal tone and presence, small tweed amps, and a mission to move as many people as possible, the band quickly gained a reputation as a high energy and truly mesmerizing live act whose performances feel like down-home revivals with an uptown edge. Sticking to their roots of mid-century original soul music and recording techniques, the band used a lean three-day recording session with full takes and no-frills to turn out 12 new songs a mere two months into the project. With singles like "Gracefully", "Nancy Lee", "Still & Always Will" and "Blues Hand Me Down", the resulting sound brings you back to the days of vinyl records, sweaty juke joints, and the feel and essence of the original soul movement.
Another Man's Words
Vintage Trouble Lyrics

Where was my hand in this red cry
How did he say that I kissed your shoulder
Never mind and besides did it ever occur to you
Never mind and besides did it ever occur to you
That the wrong that he said was done
I could never do
Tell me why would you believe
Another mans words over mine
Tell me why would you believe
Another mans words over mine
Wasnt it I who cradled your crying
Where was he when the stars fell down
Tell me where he when the sun stopped shining
Never mind and besides did it ever cross those blinded eyes
Never mind and besides did it ever cross those blinded eyes
Never mind and besides did it ever cross those blinded eyes
That he was pushing me out
So that he could slip inside
Tell me why would you believe
Another mans words over mine
Tell me why would you believe
Another mans words over mine
Tell me why would you believe
Another mans words over mine
Tell me why would you believe
Another mans words over mine
Over mine
Tell me why
Over mine
The song "Another Man's Words" by Vintage Trouble is a powerful ballad that explores the themes of betrayal, distrust and insecurity in a relationship. The song opens with the singer asking the subject of the song what another man said to her that made her doubt him. He questions the circumstances around her reactions and wonders if it ever occurs to her that the accusations and lies were not true. All the while, the singer argues that he could never do the wrongs that the other man was accusing him of doing. The first verse is a plea to the subject of the song to reconsider her belief in the singer.
The second verse emphasizes the actions that the singer has taken to prove his love and loyalty towards the subject of the song. He asks her to consider his actions instead of the words of the other man. He reminds her of the times he was there for her when she was crying and when things were falling apart. The singer questions the morality of the other man by asking where he was during these times of crisis. He suggests that the other man was waiting for his chance to slip in while he was being "pushed out." He ends the song by repeating the chorus and the question of why the subject of the song would believe another man's words over his.
Overall, the song is an emotional and powerful exploration of the themes of betrayal and insecurity in a relationship. Vintage Trouble uses urgent and passionate vocals and bluesy guitar riffs to bring the emotional weight of the lyrics to life.
