The power foursome then moved to commune, create and rehearse amongst the famed musical lore of Laurel Canyon. Within two weeks of rehearsals in early 2010, the group quickly began playing local shows and late night speakeasies. Led by timeless vocal tone and presence, small tweed amps, and a mission to move as many people as possible, the band quickly gained a reputation as a high energy and truly mesmerizing live act whose performances feel like down-home revivals with an uptown edge. Sticking to their roots of mid-century original soul music and recording techniques, the band used a lean three-day recording session with full takes and no-frills to turn out 12 new songs a mere two months into the project. With singles like "Gracefully", "Nancy Lee", "Still & Always Will" and "Blues Hand Me Down", the resulting sound brings you back to the days of vinyl records, sweaty juke joints, and the feel and essence of the original soul movement.
My Whole World Stopped Without You

With all the years behind me
Signs they do show
The feelings brand new
Pages do flow
It′s no longer spring time
Seasons do change
But I'm still drowning in blue
No matter the way that I go
Or how hard that I try
No difference who′s to my side
If that who is not you
And no matter the wind
What ever the ride
I stand still with time
Time used to fly 'til you walked out that door
The sand doesn't fall through our glass anymore
And my hands on the clock
We don′t get around now I′m sure
My whole world stopped without you
Back in the day
I clearly remember
Strolling the shore
With time on our side
But it slipped away
Right through our fingers
But it's not too late
To turn back the page if I would be left behind
I′m saying that now that I'm older
And a little bit wiser
I look off of my shoulder
And see the best thing that′s happened to me
Now I know that
Please let me show that
Love heals in time
Time used to fly 'til you walked out that door
The sand doesn′t fall through our glass anymore
And my hands on the clock
We don't get around now I'm sure
My whole world stopped without you
No matter the way that I go
Or how hard that I try
No difference who is to my side
If that who is not you
And no matter the wind
What ever the ride
I stand still with time
Time used to fly ′til you walked out that door
The sand doesn′t fall through our glass anymore
And my hands on the clock
We don't get around I′m sure
My whole world stopped without you
Without you
Without you
The lyrics of Vintage Trouble's "My Whole World Stopped Without You" is about the longing and nostalgia for a past love that has left a significant impact on the singer's life. The song explores the idea that no matter how much time has passed, the singer still feels the same way about the person they lost. The opening lines, "what do you want, with all the years behind me," suggest that the memories of the lost love have stayed with the singer for a long time.
The lyrics "Time used to fly 'til you walked out that door, the sand doesn't fall through our glass anymore, and my hands on the clock, we don't get around now I'm sure" paint a picture of how time stands still for the singer after their love has gone. The idea of the sand not falling through the glass is metaphorical for how time seems to have stopped without the person they loved. The chorus, "my whole world stopped without you" is a powerful statement that emphasizes the extent of the singer's dependence on this person.
Further, the lyrics convey the idea that the only way to heal from this loss is to reunite with their love. They believe that even the time spent without the lost love was an effort to realize the value of the same love. The song's verses also allude to the idea that while memories remain and time seems to have stopped, there is still a chance to turn back the page and reconnect with the past love.
