Together, Keegan, Josh, Nick, and Chris have found a strong sense of camaraderie in music and each other, writing and performing as a cohesive unit. In one another, they have found balance, chemistry, and an intense and unwavering bond. And in music, they have found something worth fighting for, something with no limit or expiration date, something they believe in. Even in their title, “Vinyl Theatre”, the guys have strategically placed elements of the band’s dedication. Not only evoking a feel that fits their style, the name emphasizes musicianship and performance, and serves as a reminder to the band of their fans, who the band says they “ultimately do this for, on and off the stage.”
Claiming influences such as Two Door Cinema Club, The Killers, The Shins, and Death Cab For Cutie, Vinyl Theatre has taken what they’ve learned from these groups with a grain of salt, making a conscious effort to focus on their personal sound and progression being distinctly their own and separate from their influences. The band defines their music as modern indie rock with elements of electronica and pop, a sound that is “unique and differentiating.” Marked with bright synths, catchy hooks, lush vocal harmonies, and loud guitars, and described by critics as “mellowly loud”, “pop-savvy”, and “delightfully dancy”, Vinyl Theatre has a powerful sound all their own that has been well-received by fans and critics alike.
Having performed at venues and events such as Shank Hall, Bastille Days, and Yellow Phone Music Conference in Milwaukee, and Beat Kitchen and MOBfest in Chicago, the young group has had a fair amount of exposure to various fan bases in the past year. Vinyl Theatre has also opened for national touring acts twenty-one pilots, Royal Teeth, Parade of Lights, Makeshift Prodigy, Chappo, Five Knives, and Quiet Company. They have been featured on websites such as Frontiers LA, MadeLoud, JSOnline, and Milwaukee’s own Breaking and Entering as band of the month. Vinyl Theatre’s single “I Need You Here” was world premiered on California’s KX 93.5FM in Laguna Beach where their music is in regular rotation. Their music is also currently receiving heavy airplay in Europe, Milwaukee’s own FM 102.1 and WMUR, Marquette University Radio.
Their soon to be released EP, “Chromatic”, is not only a fun and upbeat album but a record to date of how the band feels they have grown and progressed in the year since their official start - from honing their art of songwriting, to continually strengthening their sound, to developing a powerful live show. With the strong and positive reception of “I Need You Here”, the group has high hopes for the album’s success and continued positive fan reception, believing their fans will hear their heart and commitment in every note. They hope their EP and unrelenting diligence will lead to more exposure and added momentum, propelling them through mile after mile, each one better than the last.
As of August 19th 2014, the band announced they had joined the Fueled By Ramen family. Their first full length album, "Electrogram" will be released the 23rd of September. While this album includes some of their songs from "Chromatic", there are also a bunch of new songs. They will also be opening for Twenty One Pilots for their upcoming "Quiet is Violent" tour.

Take Me Home
Vinyl Theatre Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Into this darkness I have met
I know it's taken better men
but I'll fight to the bitter end
Remember how the night's adore,
When courage runs its mouth some more
Take me to that bitter end
(Shakes me lately)
Take me home we can be alone, be alone
I know I'm sinking like a stone
Take me home we can be alone
Take a look we're crumbling
Tired and still stumbling
the night has taken better men
but I'll fight 'til the end.
Can't you see my heart still racing
Your hand in mine once more
Never lasts but, everlasting thoughts
Shake me lately.
Take me home we can be alone, be alone
I know I'm sinking like a stone
Take me home we can be alone
I need your love but I need you too
There's a place that we can run to
I need your love
Oh
So take your time before I take you,
To a place that we can run to
I need your love
Oh
Take me home we can be alone, be alone
I know I'm sinking like a stone
Take me home we can be alone
Take me home
Take me home
Be alone.
Be alone
The song "Take Me Home" by Vinyl Theatre is a compelling and emotionally charged plea for unity and safety. The opening lines of the song convey a sense of foreboding and hopelessness. It starts with the line, "Remember me as I descend into this darkness I have met," implying that the singer is struggling to survive in a world that is slowly getting darker and darker. He acknowledges that many people have faced similar obstacles and succumbed to them, but he promises to persevere until the end. The chorus emphasizes the singer's desire to find a place of safety and comfort where he and his loved one can be together without any distractions. He is sinking like a stone, but his lover's companionship is what will prevent him from going under.
In the second verse, the singer continues to express his need for companionship and safety. He acknowledges that both he and his lover are crumbling and stumbling, but he still wants to keep fighting. The line "Can't you see my heart still racing, your hand in mine once more" conveys his desperation for love and comfort. The bridge emphasizes the singer's need for love and how it can sustain him through difficult times. He promises to be patient and not rush his lover into anything, but he still needs her to come with him to a place where they can find sanctuary together.
Overall, "Take Me Home" is a powerful song about the importance of love and companionship in times of turmoil. It speaks to the universal human desire for safety and stability, even when the world seems to be falling apart.

Remember me as I descend
Think of me as I fall into this darkness
Into this darkness I have met
I've faced this darkness before
I know it's taken better men
I know stronger men than me have succumbed to this darkness
but I'll fight to the bitter end
But I will refuse to give up and fight until the end
Remember how the night's adore,
Think of how much the night has to offer
When courage runs its mouth some more
When bravery speaks the loudest
Take me to that bitter end
Lead me to victory no matter the cost
I'll fight to the end
I will never give up
Take me home we can be alone, be alone
Bring me back to a place where we can be together, just the two of us
I know I'm sinking like a stone
I know I'm falling apart quickly
Take a look we're crumbling
We're falling apart quickly
Tired and still stumbling
Exhausted and struggling to keep going
the night has taken better men
The darkness has defeated stronger men
but I'll fight 'til the end.
But I will never give up the fight
Can't you see my heart still racing
Don't you see how my heart is still beating fast with determination
Your hand in mine once more
If you hold my hand again
Never lasts but, everlasting thoughts
Our time together may be limited, but the memories will last forever
Shake me lately.
Recently I have been feeling unstable
I need your love but I need you too
I need both your love and your presence in my life
There's a place that we can run to
There's somewhere we can escape to
Take your time before I take you,
Take the time you need before we go together to this place
To a place that we can run to
To a destination where we can seek refuge
I need your love
I need you to care for me
Take me home
Bring me back to a safe place
Be alone.
Just us two, with no one else around
