Sweetly in my ear
He says the words, the ones i need to hear
I'm his blue bell
I'm his new girl
I'm his blue bell
I drift into his world and i lose my mind
I'm his blue bell
I'm his new girl
I'm his blue bell
I'm his blue bell
I'm his blue bell
I'm his new girl
I'm his blue bell
I'm his blue bell
We walk together into fields coloured blue
Kissed by the sun i want to lie beside you
New girl (blue bell)
I'm his blue bell
I'm his new girl
I'm his blue bell
I'm his new girl
I'm his blue bell
The lyrics to Violet Indiana's song "New Girl" reflect the feeling of falling in love, being someone's new and special person. The opening lines, "He tries to feed me whispers, sweetly in my ear, he says the words, the ones I need to hear" show someone who is trying to woo the singer with sweet nothings, his words are like nourishment that the singer craves. The repetition of "I'm his blue bell, I'm his new girl" reinforces the idea that the singer is this special, new person in the guy's life. The lines "His heart is smiling and it's right next to mine, I drift into his world and I lose my mind," shows how deep the love is, how they feel connected and that once they're together, nothing else matters.
The second half of the song describes the idyllic setting where the couple is lost in their love. "We walk together into fields colored blue, kissed by the sun; I want to lie beside you," speaks of a beautiful, serene place where they can be alone with each other. There is a sense of contentment and peace that comes from being in love as seen in the repetition of "I'm his blue bell, I'm his new girl."
Overall, the song "New Girl" is an intimate portrayal of what it feels like to be in a new relationship, someone's special person. The song flows naturally with the beautiful poetry of lyrics and music that evoke imagery, painting a picture of a beautiful, peaceful love.
