Vomitosis
Viral Millennium Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Breathe to be the vomitosis of a world gone wrong
were the virus the disease to end all life
in your eyes you see death as i see life

Hold a grain salt to ode Lemurian seas
to wish upon a distance of revised prophecies
and how, history repeats it's self
with a new fall out

Taste our blood in the ocean
before you know it we are a danger to our selves

Breathe to be the vomitosis of a world gone wrong
were the virus the disease to end all life
in your eyes you see death as i see life

By the time you hear this, we are already gone.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Viral Millennium's song "Vomitosis" paint a bleak picture of a world that has fallen into a state of decay and rot. As the first line of the song suggests, breathing becomes a way of manifesting the state of the world- a state of vomiting, where everything that was once good has been corrupted and defiled. The idea of being a virus, a disease that would put an end to all life, underscores the severity of this dystopia. The second line of the song, "in your eyes, you see death as I see life" speaks to the idea that one's perception of the world and what it should be is relative- what one person might see as chaos and disorder, others might see as a way of life or a new opportunity.

The third and fourth lines of the song switch focus to nature and the way we interact with it. "Hold a grain salt to ode Lemurian seas to wish upon a distance of revised prophecies" speaks to the idea of revising or revisiting prophecies of the past in order to shape our future. Ode to the legendary lost land of Lemuria- sometimes called MU- that once existed in the Pacific Ocean between North America and Asia, the lyrics depict a wish for purity and renewal in a world that is awash with filth and decay. However, the repetition of falls and repeats of history suggest that despite our best intentions, we cannot escape the cycles of destruction and rebirth that shape our world.

The final line of the song, "by the time you hear this, we are already gone" is a poignant reminder that it may be too late to act, to change the course of the world. This line suggests that the world has moved too far down the path of destruction, that we cannot reclaim what we once had. It is an ominous warning- one that can be seen as both a call to action and a reflection on our helplessness.
