Uhhh, vital? No. I wouldn’t say he’s “vital” to the human race. He’s an oddity… and there would probably be some benefit in studying his methods, but I’m positive we would do just fine without him or men like him.

Self-immunization from snake venom is not a critical issue that requires any sort of medical breakthrough. We have anti-venom — that’s the breakthrough. The scientists and doctors who synthesize and founded those compounds, they’re the vital ones.

Daniel Nailand This man just not only survived an enough venom to kill 8-12 grown men but also continued a conversation afterwards. He is not misrepresenting the science of immunology in any way he is furthering it in a physical way that few people in this age are willing to take things. There are exceptions to every rule and tends of thousands of different venoms on this planet so of course this may not work for every one of them but it also might I dont think you know the answer.

Daniel Nailand you seriously had to go on about how he was wrong about saying science is involved and he is doing it for other people? Bro he just genuinely believes what he does has a purpose, and I believe it does too, it ain't just some "cool party trick". A man that is able to take enough venom that kills 8-12 adults in 30 minutes and survives is classified as a "cool little party trick" to you? This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen in terms of survival capabilities, I'd love to make myself immune to such snakes. If his blood can provide immunity for even a portion of poisonous snakes out there, that is fine, I'm taking it. Sure it may be unlikely you actually meet one and get in that danger, but better be prepared than be sorry when an unlikely event happens.

I heard a story of a king from hundreds if not thousands of years ago who was so afraid of being poisoned that he tried to become immune to it by ingesting a tiny bit over a very long period of time. Then one day his kingdom came under attack and he and his family were going to be captured so they took a huge dose of the poison one that he was sure would definitely kill all of them. Everyone died except him he got really sick but still survived.

There used to be a man in Miami Florida that owned a snake farm in the 50s and 60s. He was bitten so many times that his blood could and did save other bite victims. He was a real hero. This guy is as well.
