In "Vida", Visconde reflects on his life from the perspective of his sixth-floor apartment where he can no longer see the sunset or the river he loves. He muses on whether he had to end up there and whether he has anything worthwhile to say. He admits to having learned valuable lessons from nearly dying and from his time in front of the television but wonders whether he has enough to offer. Visconde acknowledges that life's changes will come, sometimes painfully, but that they will pass, even if we barely notice. He warns that friends will disappear, and someone may betray us, even ourselves, but he also advises that enemies test us and teach us, and that we should learn what they have to offer. Ultimately, Visconde admits that he is lost too but that he has something important to tell his listeners: don't follow his lead because he's just as confused as they are.
The song "Vida" by Visconde is about the uncertainties and changes of life. It is a reflective tune that encourages listeners to learn from their enemies and not to follow blindly the path of others. The lyrics are open to different interpretations, and the song has become a Brazilian classic since its release in 1981.
