The band's original members were singer-songwriter-guitarist Rachel Flotard and drummer Ben Hooker, both formerly of Hafacat; and Kim Warnick, formerly of the Fastbacks. Warnick retired at the end of 2004, but Muffs co-founder Ronnie Barnett signed on to play the bass during the band's 2005 tour.
Visqueen's song "Vaxxine" has received frequent airplay on U.S. independent radio stations.
Rachel Flotard also writes a love advice column for Seattle-based online publication Three Imaginary Girls called Love is Hard with Rachel Flotard, where she dolls out spirited, sharp-witted advice for the love-lorn.
Ward
Visqueen Lyrics

Is brazen to your arms and to your lungs
One nite
Baby come on come on come on come on and turn it around..
But you look so fine
You made me lose my mind
For love
You’re numbers don’t add right
You keep me up at nite
For love
On my side
Will the love you’ve given
Drive us to a wide out open space
When that ceiling loosens up
Little lockets open destinies for life
Will the love you’ve given
Take the morning seat right next to you
Tonite!
Come on come on come on come on and turn it around..
You look so fine
You made me lose my mind for love
You’re going to lead this time
Building it pine by pine
For love..
The lyrics to Visqueen's song Ward seem to be exploring the complexities of love and how it can impact every aspect of our lives. The opening lines suggest that when love is all-consuming, it can feel as if it's permeating every part of our being, affecting both our physical and emotional selves. The refrain "Baby come on come on come on come on and turn it around" seems to be a plea to a lover to help redirect the overwhelming emotions that are being experienced.
As the song progresses, the lyrics become more abstract, with references to "wide out open space" and "little lockets." These lines could potentially be interpreted as a metaphor for the vastness of love and how it can unlock endless possibilities and potential for those who embrace it. Later on, the lyrics seem to suggest that love can bring people together and create a sense of unity, with lines like "You're going to lead this time / Building it pine by pine / For love."
Overall, the lyrics to Ward are ambiguous and open to interpretation, but they seem to be exploring the idea that love is a powerful force that can affect every aspect of our lives if we let it.
