May
Vivian Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You can't fear tomorrow, just walk down that road
'Cuz nothing is history
'Til the story's long been told
You can't fear tomorrow
You want to believe
And given half a chance
To show you how today
I'd say...
I love you, I love you May
It took a while 'til time stopped movin'
Enough to for me to stay
Let it out, let her in, find a place to begin
And stop standin' in the way
Another life of understanding
Another life to lead
We go on, without sin, we belong deep within
It's our world, it's all we need
You can't fear tomorrow, just walk down that road
'Cuz nothing is history
'Til the story's long been told
You can't fear tomorrow
You want to believe
And given half a chance

To show you how today
I love you, I love you May

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Vivian's song "May" are about letting go of fear and embracing the present and the future. The song encourages the listener to not be afraid of tomorrow and to face it head-on. The line "You can't fear tomorrow, just walk down that road" is a reminder to take things one step at a time and not to get ahead of yourself with anxiety about what the future may hold.

The chorus of the song repeats the lines "I love you, I love you May," which could be interpreted in different ways. It could be a message of love to a person named May or an expression of love towards the month of May. May is often associated with spring, new beginnings and growth, which reinforces the idea of embracing the future and letting go of fear.

The lyrics also touch on the idea of self-discovery and finding your place in the world. The line "Another life of understanding, another life to lead" suggests that the singer has gone through a transformative experience, possibly a period of self-reflection, and is now ready to move forward with a clearer sense of purpose.

Overall, the lyrics to "May" promote a positive outlook on life and encourage the listener to be open to new experiences, to face their fears, and to embrace love and self-discovery.

Thank you! Vivian May Williams is one of my faves. She, Lillian De Waters, Marie S Watts, and Joel Goldsmith, along with Nisargadatta, have become my go-to authors. By giving us Williams in audio you have given us a gift. Some of these authors are going out of print, which would be a great loss. They were talking, in their times, about non-duality and unity consciousness. Their wisdom shines through. Thank you for giving voice to some of them!
