The album was mixed by Victor Van Vugt (Athlete, PJ Harvey, Beth Orton, Nick Cave) and released in Europe on the bands own label DuurtLang Records (A Dutch word which aptly translates to takes a long time)

Second Blow
Voicst Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You gave me a second chance today
I give trouble on a growing list
All the phrasing stride make them all sound right
Many words and zero risk
Here comes the second blow
I totally forgot that I love you so
Funny the circumstance
A motel in LA on a phony dance
Yeah sure all that is left is room for you to leave
Here comes the second blow
Totally forgot that I love you so
And now all that is left is room for you to leave
Funny the circumstance
A motel in LA on a phony dance
Yeah sure all that is left is room for you to leave
Winter morning breeze
The country so quiet
That it leaves space for everyone to wake
For a year I tried to keep it all inside
I did
Many words and zero risk
Here comes the second blow
Totally forgot that I love you so
And now all that is left is room for you to leave
(Damn...)
(Damn...)
(Damn! )
Funny the circumstance
A motel in LA on a phony dance
Yeah sure all that is left is room for you to leave
The lyrics to Voicst's song "Second Blow" appear to be about a relationship that is on the brink of falling apart. The singer is expressing regret for the trouble they have caused, but they are also acknowledging that they have been using "many words and zero risk" to mask their true feelings. The title, "Second Blow," suggests that there has already been one major event that has damaged the relationship, and now there is another blow that will make it impossible to continue.
The second verse adds some context to the situation, as the singer reflects on a "phony dance" in a motel room in Los Angeles. It's unclear what has happened specifically, but the setting and the tone suggest that this was not a positive experience. The third verse introduces a new element of the story, as the singer describes a peaceful winter morning in the country. However, they immediately contradict this image by admitting that for a year they have been hiding their true feelings.
Overall, the lyrics to "Second Blow" are evocative and melancholy, with a sense of regret and impending loss. They suggest that the singer is only now realizing how much they care about the other person, but it may be too late to save the relationship.
