The project underwent many transformations as it evolved. Void Vision functioned as a duo consisting of Shari and Hayden Payne, who later left after the recording of their first 7" vinyl 'In 20 Years' on Blind Prophet Records to pursue his project, Dream Affair. Shari continues on presently recording and performing as Void Vision. In 2013 the band toured the West Coast and released a split 12" with Vice Device (Portland) on Accident Prone Records and the full length entitled 'Sub Rosa' was released in early 2014 on Mannequin Records.
Shari Vari is also a member of the band Hot Guts.

Void Vision Lyrics

Lover, you want control you want the power
Lover, we used to live in harmony
Lover, you were my favorite company
A thousand lies I never knew
But the one I loved was always you
Now you're sleeping on your side
I can't believe it's true
.A broken love we couldn't fix
I'm divided in two, and left to wonder
I know you want to see me suffer
No, it isn't me, you love another
Oh, you know the cycle will repeat
Forever, never ending happily
Azure eyes I thought I knew
But the one you loved was always you
Now you're sleeping on your side
I can't believe it's true
Has it truly come to this?
.A broken love we couldn't fix
I'm divided in two, and left to wonder
Azure eyes I thought I knew
But the one you loved was always you
Singing softly in my womb
Pretending it's not true
Has it truly come to this?
.A broken love we couldn't fix
I'm divided in two, and left to wonder
The lyrics of Sour by Void Vision seem to be about a broken relationship between two lovers. The song seems to be addressed to the lover who wanted a war and power, hence causing disharmony in their once harmonious relationship. The singer reminisces about the times when they were happy together, but now feels betrayed and abandoned as the former lover sleeps beside them, possibly with someone else in mind. The chorus seems to acknowledge that the cycle of broken relationships will keep repeating, with each partner only loving themselves. The singer seems to be left feeling divided and uncertain of what the future holds for them.
The lyrics reveal a strong emotional depth, depicting the complexities of relationships and the emotional turmoil that can follow when they end. The line, "singing softly in my womb, pretending it's not true" indicates pain and a deep sense of loss that is being experienced. The song's harmonies and beats also add a nostalgic touch to the lyrics, reinforcing the message that something which was once so beautiful is now over.
