The Last Word
Voltaire Lyrics

What do you call it
When another forces your hand
And what will they say
When they find me here this way
And know, no no no it wasn't my idea
No it wasn't my idea
But oh,just to see your face
When you find me here like this
Now there's no time for wondering
Darkness is now at my door
Rapping with bony fingers
He's come to take me home
He'll envelope me in sleep
Wrapped in black feathery wings

but before we fly, here's my goodbye

I get the last word
I get the last laugh
As sure as the room is growing cold
I'll have the last word
I'll have the last laugh
As sure as my blood is running cold

they won't call it suicide
Because I've got the killer's name
Engraved so deeply in my veins
They will call it homocide
Because I've got your name
So clearly carved into my wrist
The weak and the lame will find their way
To escape but why should I
Leave all this beauty behind
And forfeit the joy in my life
In the name of an enemy

I'll have the last word
I'll have the last laugh
As sure as the room is growing cold
I'll have the last word
I'll have the last laugh
As sure as your blood is running cold

far be it for I to leave all this beauty behind
I will stay to watch you wither away
And with any luck you may be hit by a truck
And I will remain to dance upon your grave
Oh, look, can't you see how much your death means to me
Please won't you play in a busy street

Far be it for I to leave all this beauty behind
I will remain to dance upon your grave

This song literally saved my life. I had nearly given up. Everything was stacked against me. Then, like magic, this song just appears in my Up Next -- and I feel in love with it. I'll be damned. I will remain to dance upon graves. Thank you for this beautiful song - it's dark and haunting and motivating in its own sly way. Thank you so much. It's a whole new world.

This is a truly empowering song, I only wish that more people knew about Voltaire.

@Destroyer of the universe Yeah, I love his music.

@baking pancakes NaH, i'm pretty sure he's gonna stay like that...well, it's a shame really. Wish he was known by more to have more motivation to continue, can't wait for the new album too!

The man is in AQWORLDS as himself, has had multiple songs starred in a major cartoon network series and has several networking options where I'm sure he's getting as much attention as he wants xD. As The ultimate quarts put a year ago, 3k views but no comments. This video alone has 3k views and it isn't even from Voltaire's account xD. I think we all wish he had more people riding his wave, but today's modern slave follows it's idols the way Bo Burnham described in "Repeat Stuff". What I'm trying to say is, I think Voltaire is like that one famous guy everyone knows deserves more but won't get until a younger, more "appealing to children" idol shines light on him. I vote Billie Eilish to be the one to do it, how about you?

For me this song has a slow then average start but it picks up as it goes and even I am at the end of the song singing "and I will remain...TO DANCE UPON YOUR GRAAAVVEEE" ooooo i love those lyrics <3

Damn. I thought Feathery Wings, Almost Human, or When Youre Evil was my favorite but this one is totally in first place now

Hmm, I wasn't expecting the music changes. I was enamored with the beginning of the song. The change was like being jerked back into the album's themed aura. Heh, perhaps one can describe it as an angel's flight, only to be struck by lightning and on a downward spiral through earth and into hell.
