Okay so this is my experience with purchasing a car from vroom . You are able to call and do the ordering process with a representative over the phone . Do not, i repeat, do not buy the extended warranty/maintenance plan from vroom. It is through a company called safeguard  which is a scam.

Try to ask for the bank approval in writing from vroom to make sure that are not raising the interest rate.  Make sure if you're trading in a vehicle to see if they can raise the appraisal value;  they did for me.

Make sure after you submit your documents to call the title department and ask all the questions about title . What they told me is the vehicle could show up with no tags, or the vehicle could show up with new buyer tags that are temp. After 2 months of having new buyers temp tags you have to call and ask for new temp tags and provide your insurance with the coverages that they allow in Texas to get the new temp tags . The title department said that the vehicle could take up to four months to get your actual plates which they should state on their website, I think that that is not cool.

With the 7-Day 250 mile return policy/warranty, usually they will only refund your deposit of $500 when you buy the car if there's a mechanical failure. Even though they say that you have a 7-Day 250 mile warranty in my research this is sort of not true. Something else to look out for is your vehicle could be late upon delivery they are using third-party HotShots to deliver the vehicles so delivery is kind of unreliable Based on the schedule that they set for delivery.

When I was approved from Santander Bank I did some research into the bank and they've had some shady situations and class actions that they had to pay back so I went ahead and called Santander Bank to confirm that I was approved for financing. Because upon research I found that vroom has approved auto loans on behalf of Santander Bank only to come to find out that the person was never really approved. So in my Situation I wanted to make sure that they did approve my loan before I sign the contract.

You will have to pay $500 as a deposit to hold the vehicle until 10 days after you received the vehicle which I think is very unfair. Also you have to pay $599 to transport a vehicle to you which can be in the finance.

Upon doing further research into them actually doing a deep check into the vehicle and also cleaning the vehicles I think this is where they're lacking. they don't  actually service the vehicles or look at them and they don't really clean them so this is your responsibility when you receive your vehicle the first day you need to take it to the dealer that manufactured the vehicle and have a thorough inspection done.

In my situation I bought a new truck 1 year old that has 7000 miles I'm still waiting for the vehicle to arrive I finished contract sent all the information in and provided all the information for my trade in. I believe it's best also contact the original manufacturer give them the VIN and see what information you can get.

Do not for a second think that you can trust vroom. You need to do all your own research check on your own vehicle and make sure that if there's any issues I repeat make sure that if there's any issues with your vehicle you let them know within the first seven days because if you don't after the 7 days they will tell you that's all your fault . And they will not help you .

The issue that I see here is that when you receive your vehicle they are Texas plates and so you're buying a vehicle that's out-of-state one that saves them cost you are dealing with the company that has multiple different locations for operation so that saves the money there. They also own a dealership in Texas called Texas Direct; I would do research into that. They have not had a long-running history of doing the right thing so you have to be on top of all the information and knowledge About your vehicle .

The most important things that I think you should know is that this company is not trying to provide as much transparency as possible. Because most of the people that work at this company are new, and have worked there for less than three months or they have no idea what they're talking about.

you must must must call the titles department and make sure everything's okay. call the delivery partment make sure everything's okay there and as well. check in with the sales department to make sure that the contract was made correctly I think it's important for room to let people know that it could take up to four months to get your tags that you would be left with Texas plates for 4 months until you get yours originating States plates that you have to do a smog check and also take your vehicle in for a VIN check through the police department These are things that the website does not tell you . Sometimes carfax's are not up to date so you really do need to have a mechanic look at the vehicle as well as the original manufacturer look at the vehicle and do a computer diagnostic multi-point inspection .

If you can Finance your vehicle somewhere else, I would. do not try to go through vroom because they did not want to show me my actual offer letter from the bank, meaning that vroom has some room to raise the interest rate to make a little capital.

The real reason they can save you money is because they don't have overhead due to Outsourcing and spreading out all the offices all over the place and having many different moving pieces to the whole situation . I believe that I will like my truck and that everything will be okay but I'm the kind of person that does deep Research into the company and if you look at the reviews from the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Reports they are not good from vroom and so if you don't do your own research it leads to a bad situation past the seven-day warranty which there's no point of return.

Lastly I would say do not buy their Gap coverage. Go with AAA or State Farm because they have reputable companies that will actually protect you vs. The Safeguard plan that this company offers.  if you do research into that company it will take 3 months to pay off your vehicle if it is totaled which leaves you ultimately with no car.

so once again do not buy their maintenance plan, do not buy their gap insurance, and make sure to ask for the offer from the bank showing your interest rate so that you know that they're not making extra money there, and also raise your appraisal value on your vehicle. get all of the information from the titles Departmen,  get the vehicle inspected from the dealer, and make sure that there are no physical damages that are more what needs to be repaired through the company .

In my research the only way to have success with this company is to know what they're doing how they're doing it and to bring all the information together so that you can make an informed decision. I think that there are a lot of great cars here but I don't think you'll get the level of care and inspection of a vehicle like you would at a dealership unfortunately . Like the titles Department said " it's not like buying a pair of pants from Amazon, you are buying a car, and this will be a slow process". I believe that dealers block vroom so that's why it takes up to four months to get your tags and they do not save this on their website so I hope you have the best of luck to find your vehicle I will keep you updated on what my experience was at the end thank you so much for reading and I hope you stay blessed and safe.

I traded in a car to vroom, here's my lengthy story.... to say the least.
I traded in my 2018 STI since they were offering a crazy amount of money, I wasn't on the market wanting to get a new vehicle but with the offer I received I couldn't say no. I put on a deposit towards a 2018 Audi S4, very clean low miles and great price. About 15 minutes after I gave the $500 to secure the vehicle for 24 hours I received a call from a sales rep saying congratulations, we're going to need the following; Picture of registration, odometer, drivers license. I sent them all that info on an email but about 2 days later I was told they were "too large files" and had to send over again, I didn't care so I sent them that info again, this was on a Thursday. Saturday I was still at nothing so I called in to ask what was the next step but my rep was on a sudden vacation trip so I had to wait another 2 days for another rep to take over. We're now 5 days after the initial step and nothing had happened. Now a contract specialist calls saying they needed some info to get a loan, I did and this step was the fastest actually as a rep from Chase auto finance reached out within 15 minutes after that call and I was given the congratulations for the new vehicle blah blah. At this point I was excited thinking I would get the car fast but no, it was just the start. I then was emailed some documents to sign online (another 24 hours delayed) so I did so right away but there was another document in which needed a wet signature so they had to fedex those copies to me "overnight" but no, it took 4 business days (They sent them on a Thursday so I received them the following Tuesday (we're now 2 weeks in and almost nothing happened other than a loan and half documents signed) so I get them on the mail, signed them in front of the FedEx driver and gave him those documents back so he could take, he laughed as he has "never seen someone so eager to sign something so fast" next day I checked tracking and they received the paperwork but took them another 3 days to process and make the sale "Final" At this point, through out those 2 weeks and a half I called about 35 times, spoke with 20 different people and not one of them told me the same story twice (they're not properly trained, they just answer as to what they think it works like, rather than how it works like) Soo..... I had already done a search on BBB and saw that some vehicles were not shipping with temp tags so I called 4 different times and every time I got 4 different answers, "yes it ships with it, I don't know exactly I will have to transfer you to a senior agent, a temp tag ships if you're getting a new tag or a new registration ships if you're transferring (this was the closest) and another one that said that I HAD TO GO TO MY LOCAL TAG AGENCY, DESPITE PAYING $250 FOR THEM TO DO THE TRANSFER. 4 more days go by and I finally receive a call saying the vehicle would ship within the next 3 business days, I was excited but very cautious as I already knew that they say one thing but do another. The vehicle was supposed to arrive June 17th but actually delivered on the 21st... at 11:45 PM. Every day I was told "we'll be there tomorrow there was traffic, there was an accident, the truck had issues" but at least the car showed up... 3.5 weeks after starting the process.. So I see the vehicle get taken out of the truck and noticed a temp tag was missing so I asked the driver if he had the registration and he said "sorry man, we only deliver the cars we are not given anything other than the keys" I asked him if all vehicles he transports for them are the same (without registrations) and he said "I don't work with them, we're 3rd party and sadly no one knows anything when we pick up the cars, all they say where the card are supposed to go, here is the key thank you" I checked everywhere in the car thinking they would put the reg/temp tag somewhere inside but nothing.. I called FURIOUS and I was told to wait and there was nothing they could do, to just swap tags with the traded vehicle to the new one (they had not picked up my trade in yet) and to not worry about anything... I was mind blown at how stupid that statement was, driving a vehicle with a tag registered to another vehicle is a felony, so god forbid someone does that and gets pulled over, good luck explaining to the officer the shit show vroom is and what they said to do. Anywho, I received the registration swapped tags and finally I was able to drive my new car!! but wait.... their "7 day test period or return without questions" promise had only 1 day left, meaning If I wanted to return the car I only had 1 day to test drive, check etc for a full refund. I had scheduled Audi to look at the car for a full report but at that point was impossible as wouldn't have enough time to return in the event I needed to. Now they took 2 weeks to pick up my trade in so I paid for 2 vehicles for one month, 2 insurance premiums to drive either or for only like 4 days. At least they paid off the lien of my other car fast, took them 5 days total (3 days car in transit and their promised 2 days to pay off the lien once vehicle was inspected/received by them.

Now, would I recommend vroom to other people? DEFINITELY NOT, UNLESS THE OFFER IS CRAZY HIGH LIKE THE ONE I GOT. For the kicks, I appraised my car at 2 local dealerships and one offered 28.5, the other 29k while vroom offered and gave me 35K... So after all I would say a 6K difference was "worth" the headaches and countless phone calls. They could well be the leaders in the used car industry, but their lackluster customer service is hindering them from even more business.

P.S I only received one key with the vehicle despite being told the car had 2 keys available. They used this scheme the say "we only ship one key to lessen the liability of truck drivers, and also in case if you don't release your trade in vehicle we would send a repo to get the vehicle with the second key" I laughed at the customer service agent, saying once Chase auto financed gave the funds to them, it automatically belongs to chase auto finance so them keeping a key to repo something that's not theirs is considered theft (I read the contract carefully, took me about 2 hours and no where, not once it mentions such stupid policy) Now audi Quoted me 1K for a brand new replacement key and a vroom agent told me to send them the invoice for the key and they will happily refund me, but no way in hell I am trusting ANYTHING that comes out of a vroom's agent so I have to be careful with this one key I have.

My advice to you again, STAY AWAY FROM VROOM UNLESS YOU'RE GETTING 3K OR MORE COMPARED TO A LOCAL TRADE IN, IF YOU'RE GOING TO GO THROUGH THE NIGHTMARE I DID, YOU MIGHT AS WELL MAKE SURE YOU GET A GOOD AMOUNT OF MONEY OUT OF IT.

Thanks for the info. I’m waiting on my car and paperwork has been finalized. I came to them with my own financing ready to go. Yes in the excitement of getting a new ride it’s east to overlook the reputation and now I have the time I started to dig in. Now I’m like crap! Did I make a mistake? You have to make sure and do your due diligence and stay on top of the process and YES! take it to the manufacture dealer and pay to have them check it out thoroughly! I bought a fairly newer car that is one owner. I’m expecting this car to be in great running condition and outside looked very clean as well. I’m just leery of the tag and title process. We will see how this goes.

Wow! Thanks so much for this info. We were about to look at getting a car from Vroom 😞
