Shortly after this song came out Wasp and two other bands were signed to the same record label and went out on tour together. Wasp was the headline act with Armored Saint and Metallica as openers. Saw them in a small club east of Cincinnati called "Annies".
As we went in we were asked which band we came to see.
That night the line up was Armored Saint, Wasp then Metallica.

The 80s had Marvin Sease with songs like Candy Licker Girl, all kinds of early extreme metal bands, Frank Zappa had all kinds of messed up junk in his music, Prince had tons of vulgar lyrics, there are examples from about every genre of music at the time. This didn't start in the 80s though. I don't know who was the first, but I know Jelly Roll Morton and other guys who played in whorehouses back in those days were singing some pretty vulgar lyrics, like his song The Dirty Dozen. Then in the 50s you had The Clovers with Rotten Cock Suckers Ball and the Swallows with It Aint the Meat.

Ha, ha, good memories, saw them when this single was released, they came to Paris to the FNAC Forum des Halles, probably in '83 or '84. They threw raw meat in the crowd, I remember I bought a Tshirt with this title on and went to school wearing it on. My main teacher, actually my English teacher ordered me to get out of the classroom ha ! ha !
Only later on, I discovered that Blackie Lawless played with Arthur Kane in Killer Kane Band, reason why he still has my respect.

I wish they went through with this being the first song on their self titled album. Would have really set the image right off the bat of what W.A.S.P. is all about, especially it being the first song on their debut album. Unfortunately, even in the 80s folks, people couldn’t handle good music! Just like Guns n Roses 1988 song “One In A Million” (lots of controversy with that one) it may be offensive to some, but to others who are open minded, it simply shows you a unique point of view from an artist that is unaccepted by many, and misunderstood by most. I think this is true music, and shouldn’t be hidden away because of the nature of its lyrics. It’s expression, and it’s art. Art should be set on display for the public to observe and for listeners or viewers to come up with their own idea of why it was created. Everyone sees things differently. But regardless of its nature, it’s still music. And good music at that. Keep rockin’.
