One Arm
W. Nelson Lyrics

It's so cold lying here all alone
And I have no hold to hold on you
And I assure you I'll do you no wrong
Don't know why but the one I love left me
Left me lonely and cold and so weak
And I need someone's arms to hold me
Can I sleep in your arms tonight, lady
It's so cold lying here all alone
And I have no hold to hold on you
And I assure you I'll do you no wrong
Can I sleep in your arms tonight lady
It's so cold lying here all alone
And I have no hold to hold on you
And I assure you I'll do you no wrong
In Willie Nelson's "Can I Sleep in Your Arms Tonight, Lady," the singer pleads for comfort in the arms of a woman. He is feeling vulnerable, having been left by someone he loved, and seeks solace in the warmth of another's embrace. He is candid about his feelings of loneliness and weakness and acknowledges his need for someone to hold him up until he can stand on his own again. The lyrics are simple and honest, conveying a deep sadness and desire for human connection.
The song, released in 1973, was recorded by Nelson for his album Shotgun Willie. It was not initially a commercial success but has since become a beloved classic in Nelson's catalog. The song has been covered by numerous artists, including Emmylou Harris, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Rodriguez. Its appeal lies in its timeless themes of heartbreak and the universal human need for comfort and companionship.

I remember that garage door video, and was pretty impressed, now seeing how you restored that basement door, great job! Going to watch the other window video too of course, it was interesting, and the neat sprinkler

Looking forward to the replacement video. That same project is on my list, but pretty far down there. One day.

You should start a 24/7 live stream for the kitties, like a camera in their favorite spot.

That first window looked like a prime candidate for being replaced with glass blocks.

@BBISHOPPCM's World plus with that full size door you've got you could probably just cement the windows shut and still have an up to code egress.

@BBISHOPPCM's World all of mine are too high and too small to be considered an egress so I don't think there is any requirement.

Believe me, it was an option I considered! Ultimately, I like natural light in the basement - and windows that open allow us to ventilate the area to reduce the stale air down there. I believe openable windows are a code requirement in a basement as well.

That would look nice in the computer room

All of mine are except one, I don't know why anyone would want open-able windows in an actual real below ground basement anyway. All of my windows are below grade with window wells that don't drain fast. if I need fresh air downstairs I just run the furnace fan for a few hours.

Ah another cool video
Those are the type of Windows our basement has. Unfortunately the one under my parents room has a draft and needs cocking. Ours don't open though...
