Wow Willie this is so beautiful. I love our Texas. When they called me to go to Nashville..I did and wrote for Ray Price and Conway Twitty. Well they couldn't believe how fast I could write. Needless to say they wanted me to move there and I said No Way. This girl is staying in Texas. That Producer had a fit lol. I love seeing him disgruntled lol

Right now, I am 15 minutes into the film and Willie and his friend are floating down the Rio Grande, playing their guitars, and Willie is singing. This is the mellowest vibe I can imagine, unless I was actually on the river myself. : ) So Beautiful!! . . . . Now I am about 35 minutes in and Willie & "Family" band are rehearsing in his "Cut & Putt" studio, the vibe is relaxed and great! The bit with Ray Charles was way cool too!!

The song ~ South of the Border ~ on the Rio Grande sounds absolutely beautiful. ~The Family Bible ~ is another song I really enjoyed to hear and it's one I sing. I didn't realize until about three years ago that Willie had written that song also, great hymn.

My father-in-law passed in late Oct. 2020, he was a big fan (as we are) and we played lots and lots of Willie's music, DVD's and all the videos we could find when we got together every Sunday dinner, there's a photo of Willie in Dad's coffin, he liked knowing that.

I met Willy, Before he became Nationally Known “Shotgun Willie”at the Floores Country Store at Helotes, he did a solo without backup where he played a few sets. He had very short hair, a Plain white T-Shirt, jeans, mesh slip ons and No Hat. It was beyond special Willy; thanks for cutting Nashville loose!

Kay, I was born a couple hundred miles south of the Texas Hill Country and never saw it till my teens. But like you it' feels like home. In my seventy plus years I've seen three oceans, majestic mountains, been places most never enjoy. But the hill country feels like home. Sitting high on a hill watching the sun come up with no other human within twenty miles I don't feel alone. Rather as complete as a person can I think. The Guadalupe, the Frio, and all the others stream big and small are in my blood. Inexplicable, but RIGHT. San Antonio may be called the "real" home of all Texans, but although close in proximity it AIN'T the hill country. As much a state of mind as a place. Maybe moreso.

I really love Willie Nelson's Music! But that's about it. From his glorification of alcohol & drug abuse to his social activism (of convenience) has convinced me that he is absolutely no different than the rest of the elite celebrity class that truly believes they've gained clairvoyant skills that afford them exclusive insight as to how all others should be forced to live.
A country music outlaw? Maybe. A hypocrite and an asshat of a person? Proven!

I am not sure what kind of problems you have or what you are going thru. But it's very easy to sit there at your desk writing some bad lines about another person. Maybe you should go out yourself and heal the world? Sounds like a much better plan to me than wasting your time here, don't you think?
