Anthony Tremaine Dixson was born on August 30, 1989, in Compton, California, where he was also raised and was a member of the church choir. His son, Darius, was born June 24, 2009, and was the catalyst for him to take music more seriously. In 2010, he enrolled in recording courses at Long Beach City College, using financial aid money to purchase recording equipment. He is also a single father of his son, working in part-time jobs, and eventually, rapping became his full-time career.
Boogie's musical career started when he joined the First Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church choir in 8th grade under the guidance of his mother. While a member of the choir, he was introduced to gangbanging and slowly began to make the transition from gospel to rap. On June 24, 2013, he released his debut mixtape Thirst 48, which chronicled his life and struggles. A year later, his debut was followed by his breakthrough mixtape The Reach, which was released on June 24. He signed a deal with Interscope Records in 2015. His break-out single, "Oh My" was released in 2015 and produced by Jahlil Beats. In 2016, Boogie released Thirst 48, Pt. II via Interscope Records, a continuation of his debut mixtape from 2014 that also deals with new themes such as Millennial reliance on social media. In October 2017, it was announced that Boogie signed with Shady Records. He was featured in the digital 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards Detroit Cypher and made an appearance behind Eminem in his solo freestyle. His first release from Shady Records was "Violence", a collaboration with Masego, in December 2017. The release was followed up by two more songs in 2018 - "Self Destruction" in May and "Deja Vu" in August. He has gained praise from Rihanna, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar. Boogie is currently managed by Love Renaissance (LVRN). He opened for 6lack alongside Tierra Whack on 6lack's world tour. Boogie's debut album, Everythings for Sale, was released on January 25 with melodic singles like "Rainy Days", "Silent Ride" and "Self Destruction". The album includes guest appearances from Eminem, 6lack, and JID, among others.

Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Shit
And I wish I could fly a jet with her, and have sex with her (shit)
All the Instagram hoes in the world (the world)
Yeah my nigga the world, in the world (shit)
Be in the cut with somebody that won't run to my girl
No no, no no, don't tell my girl, uh, tell my girl, yeah
I said it's too much dough to be hurt, yeah
I don't know what I'm worth, yeah
I've been broke since my birth, yeah
Too much hoes in my search, yeah
I sipped slow and got turnt, yeah
I hope you grippin' what you love
'Cause they coming to steal your joy
How come every time we function, they tellin' us kill the noise?
Why the fuck my baby mama keep sayin' I'm still a boy?
Find your bliss in the abyss and it prolly could fill the void
I'm sayin', boy, I ain't touch my ceiling
That's prolly from effort givin'
Searching for better livin', that shit come from repetition
I feel I've been less efficient, I feel I'm too pressed for bitches
Keep saying "F them niggas," but still ain't address it with em'
You stressin' when it's
Too much dough to be hurt, yeah
I don't know what I'm worth, yeah
I've been broke since my birth, yeah
Too much hoes in my search, yeah
I sipped slow and got turnt, yeah
Now if your pockets been low and your shit was all bad
Now your bitches all mad, 'cause you gettin' to the bag
Put your hands up, yo yo
All my niggas put your hands up
Ladies, now if your beauty still glow and you got a dark past
And you know that you got class
Then go 'head and shake your ass
Put your hands up, ladies, all my ladies put your hands up
The lyrics to "Live 95" by WESTSIDE BOOGIE delve into various themes such as desire, self-worth, struggles, and empowerment.
In the opening lines, the repetition of "Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah" serves as a catchy introduction, creating a sense of anticipation. The use of profanity in "Shit" adds an element of raw emotion and intensity, setting the tone for the rest of the song.
The first verse highlights the singer's yearning for a deeper connection with someone. The desire to "fly a jet" and "have sex" is symbolic of wanting to have an elevated and intimate experience. The mention of "Instagram hoes" suggests the abundance of superficial relationships but also reflects a longing for genuine companionship in a world full of distractions. The line "Be in the cut with somebody that won't run to my girl" reveals a desire for secrecy and discretion, perhaps indicating a fear of jeopardizing an existing romantic relationship.
The second verse explores the singer's journey of self-discovery and understanding of their own value. The line "Too much dough to be hurt" suggests that despite financial success, the singer still feels a sense of pain or emptiness. The reference to being "broke since my birth" signifies a long-standing struggle, not just limited to financial aspects. The line "Too much hoes in my search" implies a constant search for meaning and fulfillment, possibly through relationships or external validation. The mention of sipping and getting "turnt" could be a coping mechanism or temporary escape from these struggles.
The bridge of the song delivers a message of resilience and not allowing others to steal one's happiness. The line "Find your bliss in the abyss and it prolly could fill the void" encourages finding personal contentment even in difficult or dark circumstances. The singer expresses frustration with people labeling them as immature or still a "boy" despite their growth. The repetition of "Too much dough to be hurt" reinforces the resilience in the face of challenges, and the mention of being "pressed for bitches" hints at societal pressures and the need for validation.
The final verse shifts focus to empowerment and celebrating personal growth. It acknowledges the journey from a place of hardship to a position of success, as indicated by the improvement in financial situations and the envy of past acquaintances. The encouragement to "put your hands up" and the emphasis on self-confidence and self-acceptance, regardless of past mistakes or struggles, offers a message of empowerment and celebration of one's own worth.
Overall, "Live 95" explores the complexities of desire, self-worth, personal growth, struggles, and empowerment. It encourages finding personal contentment despite external pressures and celebrates personal growth and resilience.
