Stay the Night
WILLA Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Do you want to stay the night?
I've got secrets and candlelight
You could tell me your secrets too
I could light them on fire for you
So they'll be free to die
So they could run away with mine
Do you want to look for ghosts?
In the attic where no one goes
They could show us the other side
Show us just what it's like to die

And we'll be free to fly
Away into the night

Overall Meaning

In WILLA's song Stay The Night, the artist invites someone to come spend the night with her, enticing the person with the prospect of sharing secrets and lighting them on fire. The presence of candlelight suggests a cozy and intimate setting, and the offer to share secrets creates a sense of trust and vulnerability between the two people. However, the lyrics take a darker turn when the artist suggests looking for ghosts in the attic. This imagery creates a sense of mystery and danger, and the idea of "ghosts" showing them "the other side" implies the possibility of crossing over into the afterlife.

on Swan (Unreleased)

I, personally, think the song is about image. The image the song portrays iis one that says "I'm reckless, definitely not fragile like a swan." I really like the song because of its beat and rhythm. What do you think?
