The song "Throw It Up" by Waka Flocka featuring Lil Jon is a catchy and rowdy anthem that encourages listeners to rep their hometowns and throw up their area codes. The explicit lyrics are filled with expletives and threats to those who are too scared to participate in the fun. Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz, Pastor Troy, and D-S-G-B are all mentioned in the song as representing for their respective cities and regions. The chorus repeatedly instructs listeners to "throw it up," which refers to throwing up hand signs or symbols that represent where an individual is from.
The song has become a popular party anthem since its release in 2010 and is often played at sports events and in clubs. "Throw It Up" was included in Waka Flocka's second studio album "Triple F Life: Friends, Fans & Family" and was later certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
