Jesus Christ Is The Way
Walter Hawkins & The Hawkins Family Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When I think about the hour
Then I know what I must do
No man knows the day nor the hour
May be morning, night or noon

But just rest asure
Time will be no more
He is coming back soon

Then I will open up my heart

To everyone I see
And say Jesus Christ is the way

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song Jesus Christ Is The Way by Walter Hawkins & The Hawkins Family speaks about the hour of the return of Jesus Christ. When the hour comes, the songwriter realizes that he must act accordingly. No one knows the exact time of Jesus' return, it could be at any time - morning, noon, or night. The songwriter expresses assurance that time will come to an end and reminds us that Jesus will come back soon.

The songwriter then expresses a desire to open up his heart and share the message of Jesus Christ with everyone he sees. He believes that Jesus is the only way to salvation and eternal life. The song encourages listeners to turn to Jesus and accept him as their savior before it's too late.

And I'm still listening to the 80's The Hawkins Family.
Like "what is this"

There has never been and never will be another group like the Hawkins Family! Innovative, majestically presented, with music and lyrics that reflect God's glory away from them and back to him. every time they presented, it seemed like ministry- not a performance. Legendary is an understatement!

@SalvationinCHRISTalone888

There have been /are MANY: The Clark sisters. The late Rance Allen and LaShaun Pace. There is just so many more beautiful voices in that great holy heavenly choir. Thank YOU, GOD, for LOANING us these beautiful people to grace us with their voices and talents

@ritawoods2957

I’d say, The Hawkins and Andrae Crouch

@bario9043 I completely agree with your statement. Some people in the comments clearly didn’t read what you said. The Hawkins were and are a force completely to themselves. That takes nothing away from other artists. And this statement is coming from from a direct descendant of someone mentioned in the comments. Theres enough brilliance to go around without the need to make it a competition
