I'm white and was raised Catholic but let me say this there is nothing and I mean nothing more uplifting than this song and most Black Gospel songs. They really have meaning and gets a person in the right frame of mind for the Lord. White religions just don't have what it takes. Maybe Jimmy Swaggart but even his music can't touch this at all. There is another song that is extremely inspiring and in my opinion is the most uplifting gospel song ever performed, "Yes" by Shekinah Glory Ministry. There is a 14 minutes version which is on my playlist. I have never listened to it, and not cried. NEVER!!! Please check it out, I promise you won't be disappointed. I played this song for my mom during her transition process. I was in too much pain to actually hear the words in this song. It took her 2 weeks to transition. She died in 2009. This is the 1st time I could listen to this song. Though, I weep as I type, I now realize that she was excited to go to Heaven. Thanks be to God. Plz pray for me to continue to grow in God. I understand sweet person. Mine is 90 in nursing home. Can't see her due to covid-19. I miss her bad. She has a type of dementia also sometimes she knows us sometimes not. I first heard this song when I was in kindergarten 40 years ago. during the 1970's, there were gospel teachers in school, my teacher was Mrs Godwin, she day at the piano every morning as the whole class sang Going Up To Yonder, the blessing is I was saved by the Lord Jesus Christ a few years ago, I've had no food, no bath, no home, walking the streets feet tired eye's swollen and no fight left in me, my 3 daughters taken from my custody, I was considered a loss soul never to return to sanity, but guess what, Jesus had me the whole time, I have my life back, when I got saved I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Godwins family in church, it was no coincidence, even though she has gone to be with the lord, she planted the seed in me. a few weeks ago I'm at work and this song comes on, I felt love of life all over and I cried tears of much joy. My freshman year of college I lost my aunt on Valentine's day. Out of the 5 sisters my mom has, my aunt Carniece was my favorite. We shared a musical connection my entire life. She taught me piano.and was my vocal coach. The day of her funeral I cried ALLL day. I couldn't speak nor think but as I entered the church, the choir song this exact song. And to.make it a little better, my high school choir director (who can blow like no other) was singing the lead. My heart was full and I cried even harder but they sent my aunt home to be with her Lord. This song will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. I miss both of my parents. We were young, but the respect that taught us was remarkable. Although I am Presbyterian, I always enjoy this time of gospel music. It's so uplifting. After my Dad, my mom gave me all the burial information, obituary information and who she wanted to sing at her funeral if they were still alive along with the pianist in the church and who she wanted to sing this song. She got all her wishes. We had her for only 8 years after my Dad died. I was 34 at the time and my youngest brother was 21. We were young when our parents left us, but I am fortunate to still have my three brothers and three sisters. Praise the Lord.

This is the song I was listening to at work on a Sunday, when I thought about my sister who was fighting cancer off and on for 13 years. I got up from my work and called her home and got no answer. I called my husband and found out she had passed. She always loved this song and was very strong in her faith in God. She was 31 years of age when she transitioned and I believe this song was God's way to let me know she was gone.I still grieve her because she was so young and left a daughter, who is a wonderful young lady, with her own family. God is good.

The first time I heard this song in 1976 was at a church a friend invited me to, just 20 and I was so moved that I cried. Today 2019 still strong in my walk with my savior Jesus and my time is a lot closer than it was in 1976 ok? Lost my mother 06/18/2015 and I can remember us getting ready for church and she pressing my hair and playing this song. Beautiful song. Love you mommy. I miss you everyday but I know you have no more pain, no more hospitals, no more doctors, no more medication. Only the true healer and I'm happy your in his hands.
