Sun
Wangel Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Close to see
Never been thinking of what you know about me
Making a maze in my mind
Never been thinking of what you like about me
Save me a place in your heart

I couldn't see it
I never get the time to be it
Be cool around the sun
Couldn't see it
I Never get the chance feel it
Be cool around the sun

A part of me
Trying to make sure I'm strong enough to be
Taking the steps to your world
Never been thinking of what you feel about me
Making a maze in my mind

I couldn't see it
I never get the time to be it
Be cool around the sun
Couldn't see it

I Never get the chance feel it
Be cool around the sun

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Wangel's song Sun describe the desire to be accepted and loved by someone. The first verse describes a sense of introspection, with the singer acknowledging that they don't always consider what others know or like about them. Instead, they create a mental "maze" as a way of coping with their insecurities. Despite this, they hope to be saved a place in someone's heart.

The second verse describes a feeling of frustration at not being able to fully express themselves or be around the person they desire. The lines "I never get the time to be it" and "I never get the chance feel it" suggest that there are external obstacles or circumstances preventing the singer from fully experiencing love or acceptance. The chorus repeats the idea of being cool around the sun, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for remaining calm and collected despite external pressures or insecurities.

Overall, the lyrics to Sun seem to convey a sense of longing and uncertainty, with the singer expressing a desire to be loved and accepted despite their flaws and insecurities.

This song is by a Canadian group called "Vinyl Sun" hailing from British Columbia. The album is called "Life Inside Lucy" released in 1995. It is definitely not Nine Inch Nails or Trent Reznor solo, Creed or Tool, or anyone else it has been miscredited to. Great song! The rest of the album is really good as well.

@48sharksOfficial

i panicked when i didnt see it by nin wondering it this was a fever dream

@U2SaxFan

I once downloaded this song, being credited to Nine Inch Nails. But I knew right away it wasn't NIN. For YEARS, I've been dying to know who did this song. And now, thanks to this, I now know. Always loved the guitar solo at the end. Great song, and, from what I see, great band (Vinyl Sun, I mean, even though NIN's a great band too).

@TheGildedStar

I'm a NIN fan who found this (due to the mislabeling of course), and I LOVE this song...

@cabelitostos

same thing, lol

@User.Google1

Love this song! It came up as NIN when I was downloading a while back. I think it got mislabeled because it was early on and it sounds very similar to Trent. Especially the beats. But I keep it under NIN in my iTunes.

Definitely one of the best albums of all time. No. The best.

Last time I heard this song, I had pulled it off of Limewire, recorded it to tape, and played it while playing Tony Hawks 2.

@carlschurman5084

Carl's bassline rushes a bit in the breakdown near the end. Other than that, the song is a masterpiece. This James Justin guy is brilliant. Lots of memories floating around the old noggin right now. Missing old friends.

@Kerunou

I hear some INXS + Orgy influence in there, man! Every song these guys do sounds like someone else! They're brilliant!
