1. Washington
Megan Washington is a popular Australian musician and songwriter who records and performs under the single moniker Washington. She sings and plays piano and guitar.
Before embarking on a solo career, Washington has toured as the keyboardist and backing vocalist for artists including Old Man River and Ben Lee. In late 2008 she launched her current band, Washington, with Lance Ferguson (The Bamboos), John Castle, Des White, Ross Irwin and Ryan Monro (The Cat Empire, Jackson Jackson) on bass. The band released their debut EP, Clementine, in 2008. In November 2008 they were announced as Triple J's Unearthed winners and performed at the Melbourne Big Day Out. This was followed by the release of a second EP, How To Tame Lions in September 2009. Following appearances on popular Australian TV shows 'Spicks and Specks', 'Good News Week' and 'RocKwiz', Washington attracted the attention of a wider audience.
In December 2009 she won the inaugural Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition for her song, "How to Tame Lions". Washington received six 2010 ARIA Music Awards nominations which include "Album of the Year" and "Best Adult Alternative Album" for I Believe You Liar, "Single of the Year" ("How To Tame Lions"), "Best Female Artist" and "Breakthrough Artist".
2. Washington
Washington is the Norwegian indie band now known as Mount Washington, hailing from Tromsø, Norway, but now based in Berlin, Germany.
Founding members of the group are singer/songwriter and guitarist Rune Simonsen, drummer Esko Pedersen and bassplayer Andreas Hoyer. Their music can be referred to as Saybia or Coldplay-like, with melancholic and melodic guitars and piano's, but they're not afraid to experiment on occasions.
They released three albums as Washington: A New Order Rising (2004), Astral Sky (2007) and Rouge / Noir (2008).
In 2011, coinciding with the recording of their fourth album, the band changed their name into Mount Washington. The self-titled 'début album' under the new band name was released in early 2012.

In a world where the pain is the fear
Ain't no doubt there's a method to madness here
Set your clock to the start of a brand new year
Shine your heart to the universe and get the news
Not alone never have been, never will be
See the truth, not to mention the promise made
We began at the very first spring
How the promise will come when the promise is made
We will sing at the very first spring
That the promise will come when the promise is made
Promise is made, promise is made
Shake me up, take me up
Face to face
Lift me up, shake me up
Face to face
Make me real, make me longing to see you smile
Shall we dancing, shall we be the dancing down under
In this life of lives, are we ready to take the chance
Moving to the rhythm, here at last to
Believe
To believe
We began at the first real spring
How the promise will come when the promise is made
We will sing at the very first spring
That the promise will come when the promise is made
We began at the first real spring, ya
We will sing at the very first spring, ya
We began at the first real spring
We will sing at the very first spring
How the promise will come when the promise is made
Promise is made, promise is made
We began at the first real spring
That the promise will come when the promise is made
We will sing at the very first spring
That the promise will come when the promise is made
Promise is made, promise is made
Shake it up, take me up

Face to face
The lyrics to Washington's song Face To Face are quite abstract and allow for various interpretations. The song appears to be about trying to heal the hurt and pain in the world - with a particular focus on broken hearts. In a world where fear and pain are prevalent, the lyrics suggest that there is a method to the madness. The chorus repeatedly asks to be taken or lifted up, face to face.
The lyrics also mention 'the promise' and how it will come when it's made. This indicates some expectation or hope for a better future - perhaps one where there is less pain and fear. The lyrics suggest a belief in the power of positivity and the possibility of change. The song has an energetic and uplifting rhythm and the use of the phrase 'high on judar rhythm' may suggest a form of escapism or experiencing joy through music.
Overall, the song encourages listeners to have faith and to face life's challenges head-on. It suggests that through introspection and self-improvement, one can create a better future.
