It wasn't always about hardstyle for Pontuz & Jon. Before they started producing hardstyle they we're into "hands-up/cheesy-dance" music. It was the track "Scantraxx Rootz" who made them open up their eyes and ears for the harder styles. After that moment they were hooked on hard.
Pontuz had already produced some hardstyle tracks with his "Teequee" alias in 2006-2007, as Jon was continuing with his "cheesy-dance". It wasn't until mid 2008 they decided to start a hardstyle project together, cause' of their big love for hard beats and catchy melodies. Wasted Penguinz was born. You may ask yourself ; "why the strange name!?" well, it was a combination of random brainstorming & lots of beer. So now the journey had begun.
As they were improving their productions they got more knowledge of the hardstyle scene. The time had come to take the next step.Sending some of their tracks to labels they got an answer from a smaller label called Bazz Implant/impMUSIC. Their first release was a fact.
2010 saw the releases Hate Modayz/Resistance as well as Anxiety on the prestigious Scantraxx Silver label. Later in the year, the Penguinz were voted the best Hardstyle New Face of 2010 by the Fear.FM Community.
On February 10th 2020, they announced on their facebook page that Jon would no longer be part of the duo due to personal issues. Pontus will continue the project alone.

The song that saved my life ❤️❤️ Wow music is worth dying for. Feels cant be put into words. The power of emotion and feeling this track gives off. It was as if gods sent these producers. Such an amazing track, beyond life ❤️ everytime I listen to it, it just makes me love this music so much more. Sorry to hear that the two split up. They will always be remembered in my head❤️

This was my very first WP track I heard back in 2014 and the atmosphere, the melody is a masterpiece. As one who suffered social anxiety this track really sucked me into and helped me through the hardest periods of my life. The scream at 1:58 I always imagined as one's internal scream that nobody hears and origins from the anxiety itself. It's soo sad that today's Wasted Penguinz are just the shadow of their old self :(( I hope I'll hear again these synth sounds someday in the future. (Please Pontuz bring these sounds back)
