King of the Beach features a complete rhythm section comprised of Stephen Pope and Billy Hayes, both formerly of the late Jay Reatard's touring band. They toured for almost a year straight until Hayes left the band for some time off. Jacob Cooper, former drummer of The Mae Shi, has since taken his place. After playing the major festival circuit, Nathan started his own record label Ghost Ramp and released the Life Sux EP on September 20th 2011.
On March 26, 2013 Wavves released their 4th studio album "Afraid of Heights" on Mom + Pop records. Jacob Cooper left the band in 2013. Brian Hill (The Soft Pack/The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower) began playing drums soon after.
Wavves' fifth album entitled "V" was released on October 2, 2015 through Ghost Ramp and Warner Bros. Records.

But it's all the same
I'm more insane each day
But I'll be okay
But it's all in my head, in my head again
The things you said
But it's all in my head, in my head again
The things you said
I crashed my car today driving in the rain
I'm more insane each day
But I'll be okay
But it's all in my head, in my head again
The things you said
But it's all in my head, in my head again
The things you said
You don't know what you mean
To me, to me, to me
I lost my mind today standing in the rain
I'm more insane each day
But I'll be okay
But it's all in my head, in my head again
The things you said
But it's all in my head, in my head again
The things you said
You don't know what you mean
To me
You don't know what you mean
To me, to me, to me
The lyrics of Wavves's song "All The Same" are filled with angst and pain, depicting the struggles of the persona, who is losing grip on reality. The lines "I've lost my job today, but it's all the same, I'm more insane each day, but I'll be okay," convey the sense of detachment and indifference towards losing a job that could lead to financial instability. The persona doesn't seem to feel the gravity of the situation, and instead, as the song's title suggests, everything seems "all the same" to them. The second verse talks about the persona crashing their car, which could be a metaphor for them losing control of their life. The repeated lines "But it's all in my head, in my head again, the things you said," highlight the mental turmoil, where the persona is stuck in a loop of negative thoughts and words spoken by someone else, possibly a loved one.
The chorus "You don't know what you mean to me, to me, to me," is almost like a plea to someone who doesn't understand the depth of what they mean to the persona. The last verse talks about the persona losing their mind, and the rain could represent the tears that come with emotional pain. The lines, "I'm more insane each day, but I'll be okay," show a sense of acceptance towards their current state of mind. The song's overall mood is melancholic and brooding, depicting the struggles of someone dealing with mental health issues.
