King of the Beach features a complete rhythm section comprised of Stephen Pope and Billy Hayes, both formerly of the late Jay Reatard's touring band. They toured for almost a year straight until Hayes left the band for some time off. Jacob Cooper, former drummer of The Mae Shi, has since taken his place. After playing the major festival circuit, Nathan started his own record label Ghost Ramp and released the Life Sux EP on September 20th 2011.
On March 26, 2013 Wavves released their 4th studio album "Afraid of Heights" on Mom + Pop records. Jacob Cooper left the band in 2013. Brian Hill (The Soft Pack/The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower) began playing drums soon after.
Wavves' fifth album entitled "V" was released on October 2, 2015 through Ghost Ramp and Warner Bros. Records.

When I'm high
When I'm high
When I'm high
Windows, I can see right through
Windows, I can see right through
Windows, I can see right through
When I'm high
When I'm high
Windows, I can see right through
Windows, I can see right through
Windows, I can see right through
Windows
The song "Mystic" by Wavves is a simple and repetitive track that seems to be an ode to being under the influence of drugs. The chorus, consisting of the lines "When I'm high / Windows, I can see right through," suggests a sense of clarity or transparency that comes with being high. The repetition of these lines emphasizes this feeling, as if the singer is marveling at how everything becomes so clear when they are under the influence. The word "mystic" itself also implies a sense of otherworldliness or spiritual connection, which could be seen as a commentary on the transformative power of drugs.
One interesting aspect of the song is the use of the word "windows" as a metaphor. While it could be interpreted as a literal reference to looking out windows while high, it also has a deeper meaning. The idea of seeing "right through" something suggests an ability to perceive truth or reality beyond surface-level appearances. In this sense, "windows" could be a metaphor for the mind or consciousness, and the singer's state of being high allows them to see through the illusions of everyday life.
