1. - Wax was the union of veteran musicians Andrew Gold and Graham Gouldman, which produced several albums in the 1980s. Gold, the son of Academy Award-winning composer Ernest Gold and Marni Nixon (who had handled the singing for, among others, Natalie Wood in West Side Story), had been a member of Linda Ronstadt's band and found success as a solo artist and songwriter in the '70s. Gouldman had been a solo artist as well as a member of Hotlegs and 10cc.
In 1986, Wax released their debut, Magnetic Heaven, which spent nearly three months on the U.S. album charts, spawning the hit "Right Between the Eyes," which just failed to reach the Top 40, peaking at number 43. Two more albums by the duo followed, 1987's American English, which contained the successful European single "Bridge to Your Heart," and 1989's A Hundred Thousand in Fresh Notes. The latter two records failed to achieve sales of the debut and, by the beginning of the '90s, both Gold and Gouldman had moved on to other efforts; the former, in the singer/songwriter collaboration Bryndle; the latter, participating in a reunion with his 10cc mates.
2. - Wax is an American rapper/singer. He was one of the first "YouTube rappers", posting various songs and freestyles on the website since 2007. In 2008, he released Liquid Courage, his debut solo full-length album. He signed to Def Jam Records on March 2011, releasing his album "Scrublife" under the label, before parting ways with Def Jam in August 2012 due to creative differences. In early 2013, he released a new album "Continue"; in late 2015, he released "Livin' Foul", another studio album. His YouTube channel has over 99 million views (as of Oct. 30, 2018). He has frequently collaborated with other West Coast artists such as Dumbfoundead,Anderson .Paak, and Watsky. He has
also recorded music as part of the groups Wax and EOM, Clockwise and Wax and Herbal T, and was the lead singer of band Macgregor.
3. - Wax is a rock band based in San José, California. They are best known for the MTV "buzz clip" song, and the videoclip of their song "California," directed by Spike Jonze. The band contributed a cover of Ren & Stimpy's "Happy Happy, Joy Joy" for the compilation Saturday Morning: Cartoons' Greatest Hits and their song "Mallrats" was included in the soundtrack for the Kevin Smith film Mallrats. In the 1996 movie Bio-Dome, the band can be seen performing "He´s a Whore", "Do You Wanna Dance?", and "Your Intelligence". Loomis Fall went on to appear on Jackass the TV series and both Jackass films. The band reunited in July of 2009.
4. - 왁스 (Wax) is a female rock singer in South Korea. She debuted in 2000 with the single "Oppa" and has had seven albums (one marketed overseas) and two compilations.
5. - Wax is also one of the aliases of Robert Meijer - Dutch electronic dance music producer, active in early '90s.

Ball And Chain
Wax Lyrics

Doing the best I can
I toe the line each day
To those who set the pace
I'm just another face
But someday soon I'll lose this
Everyday's a life of pain
Ball and chain
Feel like I'm dragging round this ball and chain
I'm only flesh and bone
Still they want blood from stone
And they cry more more more
Someday they'll know my name
If I can stand the strain
And I won't have to haul this
Ball and chain
Everyday's a life of pain
Ball and chain
Feel like I'm dragging 'round a ball and chain
Someday I'm gonna break out
And I'll be free
And living in paradise
I won't have to crawl
I'll walk with my head held high
Well day after day
And week after week
They wear you down
'Till you're dead on your feet
And what do you get?
What do you got?
You got nothin'
So you stay where you are
For security sake
You got a family to feed
And pennies to make
It's a damn...
Ball and chain
Everyday's a life of pain
Ball and chain
Feel like I'm dragging round a ball and chain
Ball and chain...
The lyrics of Wax's song "Ball and Chain" represent the struggles of a working-class individual. The song begins with the singer explaining that he is an ordinary man who tries his best to live under the norms set by the people who control his life. He feels trapped and unacknowledged, just another face in the crowd. Despite his internal struggles and daily pain, he presses on and keeps up with the spirit of hard work.
The song goes on to explore the idea that the working man is never appreciated enough. No matter how much blood, sweat, and tears he puts into his job, there is always the demand for more. The lyrics reflect the hope that someday the singer's name will be known and he will not have to suffer under the pressure of his current situation anymore. Indeed, it echoes the struggles of many people who give their all to their jobs but receive no recognition.
As the song progresses, the singer's tone changes from defeatist to optimistic. He becomes determined to break free from the status quo and live a life of freedom and happiness. The ball and chain he feels he's been dragging around signifies the weight of his current situation. However, he hopes to break out someday and live his life on his own terms.

Qué dúo tan infravalorado, que tristeza, magnífica tecnología que hace que su arte llegue a más generaciones y personas y darles el crédito que merecen y se MERECÍAN.

I feel almost ashamed of myself as a music lover for not knowing more about Andrew Gold. Sure I loved "Bridge to your heart" and 10CC etc but I been really listening to material the last month.
What a great great man he was. Some people are just born with the nerdy gift of music from the gods and he was one of those souls. So very grateful that WAX were a part of my childhood.

I loved 'Lonely Boy' as a kid but I only rediscovered Andrew Gold, and also discovered Graham Gouldman after seeing 10cc this year!! I missed out on so many years but have to be thankful I have now discovered them.

The kind of song that should have been a massive hit but is instead consigned to complete obscurity. Can't get the tune out of my head it's that good. I've always loved Lonely Boy by Andrew Gold too. He was a rare talent.
