The first song that was recorded for the album Liquid Courage was "The Adventures of Larry and Tina". At the time, Wax and EOM had no plans of making an album together. They just recorded the song and when all was said and done they both agreed that they liked it. Wax liked it so much he started playing an "unplugged version" of it at his shows. This peformance of the song is from Cafe Muse in Hollywood, CA on April 12th, 2008. The song had just been written and you can tell by the introductory banter that Wax and EOM were not very well acquainted yet. Wax refers to EOM as "this dude". Wax is such an arrogant piece of shit!

It might be good to mention here how Wax and EOM "met". Basically, EOM was sitting around surfing the internet one night and he happened to stumble upon a video of some dude rapping in his car. EOM thought the dude sounded pretty good and he noticed that there was also a large amount of views on the video. This is the video:

He sent the "driving rapper" dude a beat and MC Safety Belt sent him back a message saying the beat was hot....but he wanted to make an album using his own beats (Wax also makes beats....usually more on the "cheese funk synth" tip as compared to EOM's "soulful cool sample" style). Anyway, EOM wasn't discouraged. After crying for several hours and contemplating suicide due to Wax's rejection...he got a second wind! He spent some time constructing a beat he thought Wax would sound nice on top of and sent that beat to him. Wax listened to it and thought it was beautiful. Wax immediately started humming a melody for the chorus then wrote a song over it: an odd story of an older recently-divorced guy falling in love with a younger stripper. Both Wax and EOM thought the story went really well with the music. EOM suggested that maybe they do some other stuff together and Wax agreed without hesitiation, thinking that EOM would send him another beat and maybe they would record another song. EOM then proceeded to send Wax approximately 35 beats. A little overwhelmed at first, Wax started listening to these beats one by one. By the time he was finished he realized that he couldn't just pick one so he sent EOM a myspace message asking him if he was down to do an album together. EOM agreed and they started working on the album. They assumed they would do 8 songs or so and they would finish pretty quickly.
At this point these two dudes had never communicated with each other using anything other than myspace messages. Wax found that interesting so he suggested the tentative album title "For all I know, he's an Asshole"....a play on the fact that they had never even talked on the phone before. They agreed on the title and got to work. One of the first songs Wax ended up writing and recording was "Sunday in the City" which is featured on this page. From there Wax just kept writing and writing and EOM kept sending Wax more and more beats. By the time the album was done (shit it's not even fully completed as this is being written) there were 17 tracks. At that point it seemed dumb to use the aforementioned title since the album represented more than just the fact that Wax and EOM had never met. EOM suggested the title "Liquid Courage" based on a quote he liked from the movie Dark Knight. Wax was amazed at how well that title fit in with the subject matter of the album and they agreed on that title.
Some people say that the great thing about EOM's production style is his sense of "musicality". This makes it so alot of the songs on the album Liquid Courage could easily be translated into performances by acoustic musicians, rock bands, or even orchestras. This works well since Wax often performs as a solo acoustic act. Wax and EOM hope that this album takes them to the point where they can start doing some live shows...possibly with a band. It's difficult with them residing on opposite sides of the country, but who knows what can happen....THIS IS AMERICA GOD DAMNIT!!!
Update: As of 2012, Wax & EOM are now roommates with Wax writin' 'n' recordin' a lot and EOM just makin' mad beats.

Homeboys make some noise
Home girls all around the world, ah let me hear you say "ow"
Now rub your clitori...
Check it out
Yo
Big Wax, EOM, be-ware of the team
We got you motherfuckers nervous like a terrorist scheme
You twitchin', itchin' like a heroin feind, I'm saying
I spit fresh like I just ate a throat lozenge, and it rocks the boat like crosswinds
My rhymes, people quote often
Y'all plastic like them six pack rings that choke dolphins
And I can tell by how you spittin' that you wack
I'm sippin' on a Stellasone gettin' my crew back
And I could give a fuck about your clique or your crew, Jack
We rippin' this new rap, so bitch you should move back
We mixin' a new track like every damn day
Couldn't give a damn what any man say
We don't like y'all any damn way
Put 'em on the barbie another wack emcee flambé, hit it
I don't know what you're trying to prove, but somebody been lying to you, you ain't shit man
I don't know what you're trying to prove but somebody been lying to you, you suck dick fam
Your girl will tickle the dill pickle until spill trickles in her, giving her son like Phil Mickle
Or a daughter, she be offerin' ass like it's wine on the alter at mass, she's so nun like
Except celibate she sure ain't all day skeet on her face like war paint
Stuck to her like sap from a sycamore
Kick a whore out, then it's back to the liquor store
Pick up more Paps, Blue-Ribbon and sit back, brew
Sippin', bringin' back true
Spittin' is Wax's new mission
For the oh-nine
Got your girl going down like she workin' in a coal mine
My flow shine like a big ass wipe
Here's a pile of my shit take a big ass bite, mmm
It tastes like justice
This line here don't have any substance
I don't know what you're trying to prove, but somebody been lying to you, you ain't shit man
I don't know what you're trying to prove but somebody been lying to you, you suck dick fam
Damn
You sound shitty fool
I'm neck-and-neck with Michael Phelps, you chillin' in the kiddy pool
Wear water wings
Yo, my underlings
Songs in the key of life like Stevie Wonder sings
Flow greasy like onion rings, we do Paul Bunyan things, we think big y'all
And I hope you dig it
You a piglet in a pig pen, we Big Ben
Always knowin' the time
Me and E combined like Pacifico in the line
So when the sign the flow is divine so when I rhyme for a moment in time I'm not in control of my mind
It's like I'm-
Po-sessed when spit so fresh
Put your GODAMN money up if you want to protest
I'm psycho like Alfred Hitch
Save the cock for your girl and I'm out this bitch, one
I don't know what you're trying to prove, but somebody been lying to you, you ain't shit man
I don't know what you're trying to prove but somebody been lying to you, you suck dick fam
You fuckin' piss ants
You fuckin' larvae, piglet, baby calf
You fuckin' guppies
You little fawn ass still in the egg ass
Little fuckin' baby, still nursery rhyme singin' FUCKS
The song "You Ain't Shit Man" by Wax and EOM starts with a typical hip hop introduction with the artist asking the audience to make some noise. The song then takes a hard-hitting turn as the artists rap about their skills as lyricists and their dislike for those who are not skilled. "American Dream" is a cynical metaphor implying that success in America is hard to get, but once you have it, it's not as glorious as it's advertised. The song is a classic anti-establishment rap where the artists question the status quo and criticize the masses for their blind following of popular trends. Wax boasts about his rhyming abilities, and his ability to come up with fresh material that people remember. However, he makes it clear that this is not enough, and one needs to be authentic, which is the central message of this song.
The chorus of the song is a direct attack on those who are trying too hard to prove themselves while ignoring their lack of skill, and the second verse takes a derogatory turn as it mentions a girl who would do anything to get attention. The song becomes more intense as it progresses with Wax and EOM rapping about their superiority in the rap game and their disdain for anyone who is not authentic. The last few lines of the song are a final blow to their critics, labeling them as insignificant and weak.
Overall, the song signifies the prevalent attitude of the early 2000s where rappers were trying to create a niche for themselves without compromising on their style and skill.
