Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Way Out West's song "The Gift" are simple yet powerful, repeating the phrase "The moon and the stars are the gift someday" throughout the song. It could be interpreted as a reminder that the simple things in life are what truly matter and can bring happiness, rather than material possessions. The repetition of the phrase emphasizes the idea that this gift is something to be cherished and appreciated.

The moon and stars are symbols of wonder and beauty, and they can also represent the vastness of the universe and the mysteries of life. The lyrics suggest that one day we will realize the true value of these gifts and appreciate them in a deeper way. The phrase "someday" also implies that this realization or appreciation may not come immediately, but with time and reflection.

Overall, the lyrics of "The Gift" encourage a sense of gratitude and a shift in perspective towards what is truly important in life.

omg! That is my story with this song, my first love Felix bumped heads to this song as we first kissed and that became my song to never forget, This was in 1996. We married, had our first blessing Nebula. Part of the beauty of this song. We seperated in 2003, then reunited by the gravitational pull of the universe in 2010 and how many years later, including more blessings- unconditional everlasting love! 16 years which is half my life. Wonderful. Beautiful.

There is no comparison. One of the all time best produced, inspiring, and just so damn far ahead of its time. Its a classic and will never fade. My first vinyl copy was 'gifted' to me after hearing this track and its one of my most treasured items.

@Greebo666

Sublime. Just totally, completely, utterly sublime. Up there with FSOL's Papua New Guinea as total musical ecstacy..........and this is coming from a 53yr old biker/greebo!

Its incredible, I've literally been searching for this tune for over 10 years. I've got 1 min of it on a old recorded drum n bass mix off radio 1. Never thought I'd find this tune! Thanks to one user on here, I just got mad tingles when I realised THIS was the one!

raver memories from the 90s :)

@Greebo666 You can NEVER get too old for music that reaches into your soul man! One of our family friends is an oldskool raver, he's in his 60's now, and he's only JUST stopped going out. Still a ganjaman, still blasts tunes!

@reasonfan1

If you like this tune, you might like to hear the record where the breakdown is sampled from. It's a Drum & Bass track on Reinforced Records called "First Impressions" by The Alliance.
