Change The World
Wayne Kirkpatrick Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Pull one down for you
Shine it on my heart
So you could see the truth
That this love I have inside
Is everything it seems
But for now I find
That I can change the world
I would be the sunlight in your universe
You would think my love was really something good
Baby, if I could change the world
If I could be king
Even for a day
I'd take you as my queen
I'd have it no other way
And our love would rule
In this kingdom we have made
'Til then I'll be a fool
Wishing for the day
That I can change the world
I would be the sunlight in your universe
You would think my love was really something good
Baby, if I could change the world
Baby, if I could change the world
If I change the world
I would be the sunlight in your universe
You would think my love was really something good
Baby, if I could change the world
Baby, if I could change the world
Baby, if I could change the world
In Wayne Kirkpatrick's song Change The World, the singer expresses his deepest desire to change the world for the love of his life. He wishes to pull down a star and shine it on his heart so that his love can see the truth about his feelings for her. The singer's love is everything it seems to be, but it's only in his dreams that he can make a difference in the world. He wishes to be the sunlight in his love's universe and make her feel like his love is really something good.
The singer also wishes to be a king and take his love as his queen. He wants their love to rule the kingdom they have made and envision a world where their love can make a difference. But until then, the singer will continue to be a fool, wishing for the day he can change the world. The underlying message of the song is one of love and the power it holds to change the world. The singer believes that if he could change the world with his love, everything would be the way it should be.

Wayne Kirkpatrick has the sweetest tastes in his songs and his airy, light and syncopated arrangements. In my mind he shares those unique & beautiful qualities with only a VERY few other popular contemporary writers. IE: Paul Simon, Sara Bareilles, Andy Sturmer, Brent Bourgeois. He seems to value his privacy, which I admire and appreciate. He lends his talent and lets others cast their shadow in the brilliant light of his music. COOOOL.
@ProfessionalDad
Wayne is widely unknown in the "popular" music industry, but one of the best songwriters I've ever encountered.
@IsraelWayne
If I'm not mistaken, I think that is Gordon Kennedy on the left.
@yagvideos
It's Wayne in the center, Phil to his left. Is that Cindy Morgan on keys and BGVs? Looks like her...
@prmc58
Wayne is in the middle.

Wayne is second from left, correct? Who's on either side?
