He auditioned at Sonic Sounds studio, but while Sly Dunbar was impressed, his touring commitments with Black Uhuru prevented him from signing Wonder. He had more success, however, with King Tubby, who produced his first single, "Long and Lasting Love", in 1985, with two more following.
His new album Foreva boasts collaborations with world renowned dancehall producers Don Corleone and Tony Kelly (Sean Paul, Elephant Man). It includes the singles Again and For My Love.
Wayne rose to fame in 2003 with the song No Letting Go, which reached number 11 on the Billboard Top 100.
While other dancehall artists are known for their rapping style, Wayne Wonder's claim to fame is his unparalleled, velvety smooth singing voice.
Wayne was born in Buff Bay, Portland, Jamaica, and moved all over eastern Kingston including a stint in Rae Town - home of the weekly Reggae/R oldies street dance which inspired him to take a more soulful approach to dancehall.

The saddest day of my life
The saddest day of my life
Yeah
The saddest day of my life
The saddest day of my life
The saddest day of my life
Yes
The saddest day of my life
Is when she left me with a broken heart
I was feeling the pain
The pain, the pain
The saddest day in my life
Is when she left me with a broken heart
I was going insane
Yes
Tried to erase all the memories
They're the ones that haunts me
If I could forget, all about the past
How long will this go on?
The saddest day of my life
Is when she left me with a broken heart
I was feeling the pain
The pain, the pain
The saddest day in my life
Is when she left me with a broken heart
I was going insane
I-I-I
I wish that my thoughts could rewind the hands of time
Then we would be so happy
What if my dreams never meant to be
Then I'd be living in misery
Girl
The saddest day of my life
Is when she left me with a broken heart
I was feeling the pain
Oh
The saddest day in my life
Is when she left me with a broken heart
I was going insane
I-I-I
Broken heart is hard to mend
I'll be your lover, I'll be your friend
To every start there is an end
I wanna be forever, baby
Hey
The saddest day in my life
Is when she left me with a broken heart
I was feeling the pain
Oh baby
The saddest day in my life
Is when she left me with a broken heart
I was going insane
I-I-I
How to erase all the memories?
They're the ones that haunts me
If I could forget, all about the past
How long will this go on?
Yes
The saddest day of my life
Is when she left me with a broken heart
I was feeling the pain
Ohhhh baby
The saddest day in my life
Is when she left me with a broken heart
I was going insane
Wayne Wonder's "The Saddest Day" is a classic reggae song that speaks about the pain and heartbreak that comes with losing a lover. The opening lyrics "The saddest day of my life" is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the pain and importance of this moment in the singer's life. He goes on to explain that the saddest day of his life was when she left him with a broken heart, and he has been struggling to come to terms with the pain ever since. The repetition of the phrase "I was feeling the pain, the pain, the pain" emphasizes the depth of the pain that he is feeling, and the phrase "I was going insane" shows the reader how the heartbreak has affected his mental health.
The chorus of the song talks about how memories of their relationship keep haunting him, and how he wishes he could forget about the past, suggesting that he has been struggling to move on from the relationship. He wishes that he could rewind the hands of time so that they could be happy again. Even though the singer has experienced heartbreak and emotional pain, he still wants to be with his lover. The last line of the chorus "I wanna be forever baby" portrays his desire to be with his lover, even if just as friends. The song's overall message is that heartbreak can be painful, and getting over it takes time and effort.
