Black Hole
We Came As Romans Lyrics

Emptiness, but I don't feel a thing
As soon as I turn around
Convinced that I'm safe and sound
Feel both my feet on the ground
I fall into a black hole in my head
Reach into the darkness for what's left
I'm fighting the gravityIt's pulling the worst part out of me
Black hole
The other side, another life
Chasing the great unknown
I'll never know the afterglow
'Cause I can't let it go
As soon as I turn around
Convinced that I'm safe and sound
Feel both my feet on the ground
I fall into a black hole in my head
Reach into the darkness for what's left
I'm fighting the gravity
It's pulling the worst part out of me
Black hole
Go, I
As soon as I turn around
Convinced that I'm safe and sound
Feel both my feet on the ground
I fall into a black hole in my head
Reach into the darkness for what's left
I'm fighting the gravity
It's pulling the worst part out of me
I fall into a black hole in my head
I'm fighting the gravity
It's pulling the worst part out of me
Black hole, black hole
Black hole, black hole
The lyrics to We Came As Romans Caleb Shomo's song "Black Hole" explore the experience of falling into a dark mental space, feeling isolated and lost. The singer feels suspended and empty, yet paradoxically does not feel anything, until they are pulled into a black hole in their head. They try to fight their way out of the gravity of this space, but it seems to be pulling the worst aspects of themselves to the surface. The image of a black hole works as a metaphor for an overwhelming, all-consuming state of mind.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of the unknown, with the singer chasing something "on the other side" and "chasing the great unknown," but feeling unable to move forward because they are stuck in the black hole. There is a sense of regret about missed opportunities, with the singer unable to let go of the past and move on from the words they left unsaid. The repetition of the phrase "black hole" throughout the song adds to the sense of being trapped and consumed by this experience.
Overall, the lyrics to "Black Hole" express a feeling of being trapped in a state of mind that is difficult to escape from, with a sense of regret and frustration at being unable to move forward.

Yeah so sad he's gone, didn't even know about it until I looked into this band. But remember too that too many singers get all the credit for a band by being the frontman. The actual songwriters (you know, the guitar players) deserve just as much credit. I mean, they are the reason the songs were written in the first place

@@erikc7526 They were all pretty involved with the song creation tbh
