When you go to France, you won't find underpants
'Cause no one in France wears the underpants

'Cause no one in France needs the underpants

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Weebl's song Bonjour are quite straightforward but also quite silly. The song begins with a chorus of "Bonjour monsieur" which is "Hello sir" in French. The repetition of this phrase creates a silly and playful tone for the song. The verses consist of the singer's desire for underpants and to travel to France. He repeatedly sings "I want some underpants, I want to go to France" with the request for the listener to bring back underpants from France. However, in a humorous twist, the singer then announces that people in France do not wear underpants, so the request for underpants was all for nothing.

The song could be interpreted as a playful and light-hearted take on travel and expectation. The singer has a specific idea of what he wants from his travels, but in reality, it may not be what he finds. The exaggeration of the desire for underpants and the disappointment when it is revealed that people in France don't wear them creates a comical effect. The repetition of "Bonjour monsieur" creates a fun and upbeat atmosphere, making the song enjoyable to listen to.

Overall, Bonjour is a lighthearted and fun song that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a silly commentary on travel expectations and the things we desire when visiting a new place. The playful repetition of the chorus and the exaggerated quest for underpants create a light-hearted and enjoyable listening experience.

Fun fact: I saw this on Newgrounds once when I was a kid a LOOOONG time ago. I had no idea it was by Weebl. I never saw it again, but it remained stuck in my head for literally YEARS. When he uploaded this to Youtube a couple years back, I broke down into tears. At long last, the frenchman in my head was silenced. It was the most painful kind of nostalgia imaginable. That was the day I learned how to be happy. Thank you for inadvertently haunting my entire childhood, Weebl.
