1. WEEP, also known as Doc Hammer's Weep is an American rock band from New York City whose music combines elements of shoegazing, post-punk and synthpop. Formed in 2008 by singer and guitarist Doc Hammer, formerly of Requiem in White and Mors Syphilitica, the band's lineup also includes Fred Macaraeg on bass guitar, Alex Dziena on keyboards, and Bill Kovalcik on drums.
Their debut EP Never Ever was released in 2008, followed in 2010 by the full-length album Worn Thin and a remix EP, 6 Interpretations.
In January 2011 WEEP released a digital single for Lay There and Drown and The Hole, two songs from Never Ever that Hammer remixed, remastered, and re-recorded some vocal parts for. The following month, on Valentine's Day, the band gave away a free music download of a cover version of Bauhaus' 1981 single The Passion of Lovers.
WEEP's music has been described as dark and expansive, with "shimmering guitars and spacy synthesizers". Hammer's singing voice has been noted for its gravelly, robotic qualities which provide a counterpoint to the lush song arrangements. Critics have compared the band to a number of post-punk, alternative rock, and shoegaze acts of the 1980s and 1990s.
2. Blend infectious melodies, tight harmonies, and an in your face modern funk rock style with lyrics that echo the human condition, and you emerge with a uniquely diverse sound that heals, transforms and promotes love and peace; the sound of the 5 individuals known as WEEP, who together, bring the music to life, and take the listener on a journey of true emotions! WEEP's journey began in Minneapolis, MN, with Robin Lynn Winkelmann, Kim Paschke, and former bassist Kristine Gretillat. Taking a detour to Ithaca, NY, where they recorded two CDs, and toured endlessly on the East Coast, (including frequent returns to New York City and the now defunct CBGB’s), Kim and Robin, on the heels of Kristine’s departure from WEEP, have continued the journey to their current home in Central Florida, where they are now gracing stages with their new, very talented lineup: Keyboardist Melanie England, Drummer Rhonda 'G' Attkisson, Guitarist Suzanne Daly, Kim now on bass and Robin. With over 3 hours of original music, electrifying live performances, and their newly released EP, “Rock It”, this group of women is captivating listeners and spreading the message of peace far and wide with their hook-laden songs and their magnetic appeal!
3. An Early 90’s French emo/hardcore band.
Snow Scenery
Weep Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The many things that choke your screams
It seems to be
Repeated coldly
While heros fail to see
The Power in our frailty
It seems to be
Ice and trees
Sequined seas
There always will be
Snow scenery
Then hiding pages from
The books that used to keep you calm
It seems to be
Repeated coldly
The Postcards never sent
Addressed: "Care of your innocence"
It seems to be
Repeated coldly
In the song Snow Scenery by Weep, the lyrics paint a picture of a world filled with pain and sadness. The first verse talks about how in our dreams we face the things that we are unable to speak about out loud. We dream about the things that choke our screams, hinting toward a silent pain that we are unable to express to anyone else. The line "it seems to be repeated coldly" suggests that this is a recurring theme in the singer's life - a never-ending cycle of emotional turmoil.
The second verse talks about how heroes fail to see the power in our frailty. This could be interpreted as society's expectation that we should always be strong and never show vulnerability, but in reality, our strength lies in our ability to be vulnerable and express our emotions. The chorus talks about the beauty and tranquility of the snow scenery, which could be a metaphor for finding peace and comfort in the midst of pain.
The third verse talks about hiding pages from books that used to keep the singer calm. This could be interpreted as the singer trying to find solace in literature but not being able to connect with it anymore. The line "it seems to be repeated coldly" once again suggests that this is a recurring theme for the singer. The final line about postcards never sent, addressed to "care of your innocence," suggests that the singer is perhaps trying to hold onto their innocence in a world that seems to be filled with pain and suffering.
Overall, the song Snow Scenery by Weep is a melancholic yet beautiful tribute to the struggles we face in life.
