They started as a medieval rock band and evolved into a fabulous and genuine band with a great bunch of different musical influences that makes it so unique.
To understand what the Weepers Circus is, you need to catch the train of their music, jump in it, and hold it tight, because you’ll be taken in lots of new places. You’ll discover a whole new world of colours, emotions and feelings.
With their last album called “La monstrueuse parade” they invite you to discover or rediscover the atmosphere of the Tod Browning’s movie “Freaks” (from 1932).
The first two songs (“Seul”, “La dignité”) are quite rock and give a dynamic tone to the record.
Then the atmosphere changes and you get wrap in a dress of smooth as the first note of the song “L’oiseau de Paradis” comes to your ears. This warm and lovely atmosphere last during the next two songs called “Janvier” and “En rêve”.
You are taken away from your reverie by the amazing voice of the French artist Olivia Ruiz, who has joined the Circus on the song “Sans vous aimer”. This song gives a new energy and opens the doors on a new picture, jazzier and lighter.
First there is the song called “La fille et le loup” that is a kind of caricature of the fairy Little red riding hood. With this song, the Weepers Circus shows you that you can be great artists, with a real and deep universe and a true talent, without taking yourself seriously. It’s an evidence of their sense of humour!
The next 2 songs called “Quelqu’un” and “La dernière pluie” and the duet with Isabelle Lux “Tu perds ton temps” keep the same energy, but have deeper meanings. Even if the lyrics are full of emotions, and sometimes of sadness, these songs make you feel like Charlie Chaplin when he was singing in the rain!
The song called “La parole perdue” is a perfect transition that drives you from the sweetness of the song called “Larme” to the liveliness and keenness of “Ca passe”.
Then comes the song called “L’une des nôtres” directly inspired by the Tod Browning’ movie from 1932 (“Freaks”). This song is very strong and the brasses give it a darker and deeper dimension.
And finally, our five weepers give you the coup de grace with their last song “Le monstre”. If you’ve been strong enough to restrain your tears during the listening of the record, this song will manage to draw tears from you!
When the listening is over, you get this strange feeling of having been knocked out by someone. In a little less than one hour, you’ve gone through so many different emotions that you hardly know where you are left now the music has been turn off!
You need to be warned: Their music is a drug, and you can easily get addicted!! But don’t worry, this kind of drug is very healthy!
Je crois encore entendre

le vent qui frappe à la fenêtre
comme une plainte ou un murmure
au plus loin de mes souvenirs
Je crois encore entendre
des mots si doux, des mots si purs
des mots si tendres à en cacher
Ô nuit enchanteresse
si mystérieuse maintenant
que ne ferais-je pour te suivre
d'un pas si lent
au plus loin de mes souvenirs
Je crois encore entendre
la prière faite à la nuit
celle d'un enfant qui aurait fuit
et changé le jour en la nuit
Je crois encore entendre
les rêveries baignées de larmes
en amont d'une rivière calme
les pieds nus et le cœur nu
Ô nuit enchanteresse
que n'es-tu pas une nuit sans fin
pour trop de larmes et de détresse
je me lève enfin
et je me repose en ton sein...

Je crois encore entendre
I still believe to hear
le vent qui frappe à la fenêtre
the wind that knocks at the window
comme une plainte ou un murmure
like a complaint or a whisper
au plus loin de mes souvenirs
at the furthest point of my memories
des mots si doux, des mots si purs
words so sweet, words so pure
des mots si tendres à en cacher
words so tender to hide
mes blessures et mon repentir
my wounds and my remorse
Ô nuit enchanteresse
Oh enchanting night
si mystérieuse maintenant
so mysterious now
que ne ferais-je pour te suivre
what wouldn't I do to follow you
d'un pas si lent
with such a slow step
la prière faite à la nuit
the prayer made to the night
celle d'un enfant qui aurait fuit
that of a child who would have fled
et changé le jour en la nuit
and turned the day into night
les rêveries baignées de larmes
the daydreams bathed in tears
en amont d'une rivière calme
upstream of a calm river
les pieds nus et le cœur nu
barefoot and with a bare heart
que n'es-tu pas une nuit sans fin
why aren't you an endless night
pour trop de larmes et de détresse
for too many tears and distress
je me lève enfin
I finally rise
et je me repose en ton sein...
and I rest in your bosom...
