They started as a medieval rock band and evolved into a fabulous and genuine band with a great bunch of different musical influences that makes it so unique.
To understand what the Weepers Circus is, you need to catch the train of their music, jump in it, and hold it tight, because you’ll be taken in lots of new places. You’ll discover a whole new world of colours, emotions and feelings.
With their last album called “La monstrueuse parade” they invite you to discover or rediscover the atmosphere of the Tod Browning’s movie “Freaks” (from 1932).
The first two songs (“Seul”, “La dignité”) are quite rock and give a dynamic tone to the record.
Then the atmosphere changes and you get wrap in a dress of smooth as the first note of the song “L’oiseau de Paradis” comes to your ears. This warm and lovely atmosphere last during the next two songs called “Janvier” and “En rêve”.
You are taken away from your reverie by the amazing voice of the French artist Olivia Ruiz, who has joined the Circus on the song “Sans vous aimer”. This song gives a new energy and opens the doors on a new picture, jazzier and lighter.
First there is the song called “La fille et le loup” that is a kind of caricature of the fairy Little red riding hood. With this song, the Weepers Circus shows you that you can be great artists, with a real and deep universe and a true talent, without taking yourself seriously. It’s an evidence of their sense of humour!
The next 2 songs called “Quelqu’un” and “La dernière pluie” and the duet with Isabelle Lux “Tu perds ton temps” keep the same energy, but have deeper meanings. Even if the lyrics are full of emotions, and sometimes of sadness, these songs make you feel like Charlie Chaplin when he was singing in the rain!
The song called “La parole perdue” is a perfect transition that drives you from the sweetness of the song called “Larme” to the liveliness and keenness of “Ca passe”.
Then comes the song called “L’une des nôtres” directly inspired by the Tod Browning’ movie from 1932 (“Freaks”). This song is very strong and the brasses give it a darker and deeper dimension.
And finally, our five weepers give you the coup de grace with their last song “Le monstre”. If you’ve been strong enough to restrain your tears during the listening of the record, this song will manage to draw tears from you!
When the listening is over, you get this strange feeling of having been knocked out by someone. In a little less than one hour, you’ve gone through so many different emotions that you hardly know where you are left now the music has been turn off!
You need to be warned: Their music is a drug, and you can easily get addicted!! But don’t worry, this kind of drug is very healthy!

Bien sûr, vous ne pourriez comprendre
Ce que cette âme était pour moi
Un parterre de fleurs d'oranges
Allongée là, tout contre moi
Ce fut par une nuit blanche
Passant par là, passant par là
Je pleurais sans me faire entendre
{Refrain, Elle:}
Si le bonheur vous laisse en berne
Il peut venir du coin d'un bois
Et prendre du destin les rênes
Ecoutez-moi, écoutez-moi
Moi, j'voudrais juste qu'on m'apprivoise, qu'on m'apprivoise
Moi, j'voudrais juste qu'on m'apprivoise, qu'on m'apprivoise
Sans me juger, sans me blesser
Sans me chasser, sans me garder
{Lui:}
{au Refrain}
{Lui:}
Je la pris un jour dans mes bras
Ses petits yeux posés sur moi
Firent d'elle la plus belle
Tu m'apprivoises, me voilà !
Mais comme le vent se lève
Un jour de ci, un jour de là
Des heures d'attentes vaines
Me firent craindre le trépas
{au Refrain}
{Lui:}
Bien sûr, vous pourriez comprendre
Si mon bonheur pas à pas
Vous frôlait le corps et le cœur
Cette petite âme si chère à moi
{Elle:}
Si le bonheur vous laisse en berne
Il peut venir du coin d'un bois
Et prendre du destin les rênes
Ecoutez-moi, écoutez-moi
The song "La Renarde" by Weepers Circus tells a story of a man who finds solace and companionship in a fox he encounters on a fateful night. The man is portrayed as being in a state of emotional despair, mourning the loss of a past love. However, his encounter with the fox brings him a sense of comfort and joy that he finds in nothing else. The fox is described as a beautiful creature, and the man quickly becomes attached to her. Over time, he develops a strong bond with the fox, becoming her caretaker and protector. The man finds a renewed sense of purpose in his life, and the loneliness and sorrow that once plagued him become distant memories.
The chorus of the song offers a message of hope to listeners, suggesting that happiness can be found in unexpected places. The lyrics speak of the importance of acceptance and understanding in relationships, and the dangers of judgment and rejection. The fox, who represents an unconventional source of companionship, is also a symbol of the possibility for happiness in unconventional places.
Overall, "La Renarde" is a poignant and emotional song that uses powerful imagery and metaphors to explore themes of love, loss, and renewal.

Of course, you could not understand
Ce que cette âme était pour moi
What this soul meant to me
Un parterre de fleurs d'oranges
A bed of orange flowers
Allongée là, tout contre moi
Lying there, right next to me
Ce fut par une nuit blanche
It was during a sleepless night
Passant par là, passant par là
Passing by, passing by
Je pleurais sans me faire entendre
I cried without being heard
Pour quelque amour d'autrefois
For some past love
Si le bonheur vous laisse en berne
If happiness leaves you stranded
Il peut venir du coin d'un bois
It can come from a corner of the woods
Et prendre du destin les rênes
And take control of fate
Ecoutez-moi, écoutez-moi
Listen to me, listen to me
Moi, j'voudrais juste qu'on m'apprivoise, qu'on m'apprivoise
I just want to be tamed, to be tamed
Sans me juger, sans me blesser
Without judging me, without hurting me
Sans me chasser, sans me garder
Without chasing me away, without keeping me

I saw her like reading a poem
Elle se coucha non loin de moi
She lay down not far from me
Plus de larme, plus de rengaine
No more tears, no more refrain
Elle était là, elle me fit roi
She was there, she made me king
Dès lors, chaque jour, chaque heure
From then on, every day, every hour
A petits pas, à petits pas
With small steps, with small steps
Elle vint faire oublier les haines
She came to make me forget the hatred
Et du chagrin le désarroi
And the confusion of sadness
Je la pris un jour dans mes bras
I took her in my arms one day
Ses petits yeux posés sur moi
Her small eyes rested on me
Firent d'elle la plus belle
Made her the most beautiful
Tu m'apprivoises, me voilà !
You tame me, here I am!
Mais comme le vent se lève
But as the wind picks up
Un jour de ci, un jour de là
One day here, one day there
Des heures d'attentes vaines
Hours of vain waiting
Me firent craindre le trépas
Made me fear for demise
Bien sûr, vous pourriez comprendre
Of course, you could understand
Si mon bonheur pas à pas
If my happiness step by step
Vous frôlait le corps et le cœur
Brushed against your body and heart
Cette petite âme si chère à moi
This little soul so dear to me
