Containing seven songs, this recording showed a slightly more varied structure than the first demo. After the tragic loss of Windir frontman and founder Terje "Valfar" Bakken in the winter early 2004, the remaining members of Windir decided to pull the plug on the band. A last Windir album was planned as a final tribute to Terje. Hváll, member of Windir and later his new band Vreid, phoned Erik E and asked if Weh could record a coversong of Windir as one of several bands paying homage on the album "Valfar, Ein Windir". "Likbør", from Windir's first album "Sóknardalr", was recorded by Weh (produced by Morten Hennum Nicolaysen, Morgan's older brother), and included on the tribute album.
Later in 2004, the third demo was recorded (on a sixteen-track this time), yet again with the help of the old friend Morten Hennum Nicolaysen doing the mixing. "The Coffee's Cold In The Morning, The Beer's Warm At Night" included ten songs. Late 2005 saw the classic "Hoof & Horn" recording, produced and mixed by Erik E. These three songs were so far the closest representation of what Weh was supposed to be in the first place, with a more dynamic feeling than the previous recordings. In the last days of November 2006, the four new songs took shape. "North" continues along the path trodden by "Hoof & Horn" a year earlier.
In October of 2007 Weh participated with the song 'And the Bells are Ringing Doom' for the online 'zine Lunar Hypnosis' third free mp3 compilation ‘Autumn Calls | Winter Awaits.’

The War Is Over
Weh Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Now you can rest
Rest in your peaceful grave
And I can move along again
Now all the pain is gone
Gone far from here
Here there's just endless sleep
The leaves are falling now
Now you can fly
Fly nowhere I can see
And I can cry my tears again
No god is watching you
You are alone
Alone and draped in death
And we will never meet again
The war is over now
Now you can rest
Rest in your peaceful grave
And I can move along again
The lyrics to Weh's song The War is Over are a poignant expression of grief, acceptance, and closure. The song speaks to the end of a conflict, both literally and metaphorically, as the singer reflects on the death of someone close to them. The opening lines "The war is over now / Now you can rest / Rest in your peaceful grave" are a recognition that the struggle, whether it be a battle or a personal challenge, has finally come to a close. The singer acknowledges that the fight has been long and hard, and it's time for the person who has died to finally find peace.
With the second verse, the song pivots to an expression of longing and loss. The singer recognizes that the person who has died is now removed from the pain of the world, but they themselves are still here to suffer. "Here there's just endless sleep / And you can now dream on again" suggests that death can be seen as a kind of escape, a release from the burdens of life. But for the singer, the pain lingers on. The final lines of the verse, "And you can now dream on again", evoke a sense of separation, a realization that the person who has passed is now living on in some other realm or state of existence.
The last verse brings the emotions of the song full circle as the singer accepts that the person who has passed is truly gone. The lines "No god is watching you / You are alone / Alone and draped in death / And we will never meet again" are a recognition that death is final, and that there is no chance for reconciliation or reunion. However, the song ends on a hopeful note, with the singer once again acknowledging the end of the conflict and finding a way to move forward. "The war is over now / Now you can rest / Rest in your peaceful grave / And I can move along again" suggests that even in the face of loss, we can find peace and continue on with our lives.
