Precious Love
Welch Bob Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You got those big dark eyes that flash at me, baby
You got a head on your shoulders, you know what I mean
You got legs so long like you could walk on air
For you darlin', I'd go anywhere

[Chorus:]
For your love, your precious love
I'd do anything, yes I would
I want your love, your preicous love
I've been too lonely too long

You got a kind of walk that's just so fine
The way you fill those blue jeans baby, my my my
Yes and when you smiled at me like you did just now
All I want is just to get to you somehow

[Chorus]

Yeah those big dark eyes that flash at me
It's just your preicous love that I want, you to see

[Chorus]

I remember hearing this song a few times when I was in my pre-teen years. I thought it was performed by another group. Regrettably, until tonight, I had little familiarity with Bob Welch. Now I've heard four of his songs through YouTube. And I haven't heard this in over 40 years, until tonight. Talk about learning something new ever day!

@AJAXKID123

The same thing happened to me. I was a kid when this came out and I had forgotten about it until I went down the Bob Welch rabbit hole. I was like, โ€œOh! He sang that? And that? And that too?!โ€.

I got chills when I heard this one. It was like my brain had it stored away for decades and I didnโ€™t even know it.

Nobody ever considers the volumes of bad music that never made it above the iceberg of public attention.

Thats the only argument for contemporarianism.

Personally. I cant make the argument that older is better because I wasnt there. I was here.

@SteelcityinNY

@@BucketofScuzz It is a subjective thing. However, it was a time where someone had a guitar...met up with a drummer and a bassist and a keyboard player...heck, even the brass and woodwinds were welcome...and just played music. Bad is in the ear of the beholder, but at least they were making music. I guess itโ€™s all art if you think about it. But among us average people, there was no study in theory or โ€œcontemporianismโ€. It was just music and fun. No violence and no stress. Well, little stress.

I can't even define it. However, if the question is Why Greta Van Fleet when you have Led Zeppelin? I don't even have an answer to that neither except When's the Last time Led Zeppelin got together?

I love it when a song can remind you that nothing truly changes. That, to me, is Stairway to Heaven amongst many of their other songs. But I'm excited about this new band, too.

@OaktownABQ

I'm with you, Emily!
