Lies
Wendy O. William Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There is a face outside the window
where did all the other people go
the house is shaking in the night
I swear it's not just in my mind

My skin is crawling at the thought of you
and what you're turning into
there's something in the water that we drink
something in the thoughts that make me think

The people we believe in
they keep deceiving
if the world is ending
they gotta stop pretending

there is a sickness in the tree of life
the branch of government is full of lies
and now the storm is rising in the dark
something's brewing something's coming hard

We're building dams just to stop the flood
we're building gardens on the rooftops
but what is coming isn't understood
it's coming from inside of me and you

The people we believe in
they keep deceiving
if the world is ending
they gotta stop pretending

They're telling all those lies
they're wasting all this time

we would save the world
WE COULD SAVE THE WORLD

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Wendy O. Williams' song 'Lies' paints a picture of a world in crisis, and a sense of disillusionment and frustration that comes with being aware of the lies and deception all around us. The song begins with a haunting image of an isolated face outside the window, followed by a feeling of being alone and deserted by society. The repetition of 'something' in the following lines implies a sense of ambiguity and uncertainty of what is going on in the world that's causing distress. The lyrics are a reflection of the artist's concern with the state of the world, the broken systems and the uncertainty that comes with change. The idea of something "coming from inside of me and you" signifies the need to acknowledge our own contribution to the world's problems, as well as our power to fix them.

The song is an anthem of resistance, a call to stop pretending, to take action, and to save the world. The overall tone is unmistakably urgent, with the use of fast percussions and heavy guitar chords. The lyrics are a warning against complacency, and a demand for honesty and accountability. The message is delivered in a raw, intense, and powerful way that is characteristic of Wendy O. Williams' style.

How does ANYONE think she's entertaining?? She's evil and speaks ABSOLUTELY nothing but negativity and insults. She's not positive at all. It baffles me that she's liked or follower

She can be funny at times, but yeah, it comes from a negative place. I never feel good after I watch Wendy. Nicki Minaj was right. Wendy has so many internal problems going on, I think she's insecure, sad, angry, etc. And then she takes it out on everyone else. "Hurt people hurt people." as the saying goes. Wendy needs to heal herself so that she can stop tearing others down to try to make herself feel better.

Jia Yi

I think it because of meme but people who mention her called her a queen so idk
