they keep deceiving
They're constantly lying to us and we can't trust them.

If everything is falling apart around us.

They need to be honest with us instead of pretending that everything is okay.

there is a sickness in the tree of life
There's something fundamentally wrong with the way the world operates.

the branch of government is full of lies
The government is not being truthful with us and we can't rely on them to make things better.

and now the storm is rising in the dark
I sense a growing storm or danger coming that we're not prepared for.

something's brewing something's coming hard
There's something big and dangerous on the horizon.

We're building dams just to stop the flood
We're trying to mitigate the damage or danger that we see coming.

we're building gardens on the rooftops
We're trying to create a better world and find peace in the face of danger.

but what is coming isn't understood
We don't even know what the danger is or how to prepare for it.

it's coming from inside of me and you
We may be part of the problem, or we may be able to solve it if we come together.

They're telling all those lies
They keep deceiving and we can't trust anything they say.

they're wasting all this time
They're not actively trying to solve the problem or do anything helpful.

we would save the world
We can still make a difference and fix things if we try.

WE COULD SAVE THE WORLD
There's still hope for us to make things right and save ourselves from the danger.
