Stimmen Im Wind
Werding Juliane Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Schwarze Vögel, roter Himmel
Frau am Meer riecht an Blumen
Aber ihre Hand ist leer
Sieht ein Schiff im Sturm versinken
Hört Menschen schreien
Sie ist nicht verlassen, nur allein

Stimmen im Wind
Die sie rufen, wenn der Abend beginnt
Sei nicht traurig, Suzanne
Es fängt alles erst an
Stimmen im Wind
Die so zärtlich und so liebevoll sind
Sei nicht traurig, Suzanne
Es fängt alles erst an

Lächeln in erschrocken Augen
Blind vom licht, Tränen wie aus Eis
Verbrennen ihr Gesicht
Pärchen auf vergilbten Fotos
Der Phantasie
Menschen, die sich lieben
Sterben nie

Stimmen im Wind
Und der Mann, mit dem sie redet
Bleibt unsichtbar
Menschen, die sich lieben
Sind sich nah

Stimmen im Wind
Was ruht in tiefen Meeren
Wird einmal wiederkehren

Deine schwere Zeit ist bald vorbei
Stimmen im Wind

Overall Meaning

The song "Stimmen Im Wind" by Juliane Werding is a hauntingly beautiful ballad about a woman standing alone by the sea, smelling flowers, but with an empty hand. She witnesses a ship sinking in a storm, with people screaming for help. The woman is not abandoned but simply alone. The lyrics mention black birds and a red sky, which can signify danger or doom. Later, we see the woman's smiling eyes, but they are frightened and tears are falling like ice, potentially indicating that she feels trapped and overwhelmed by her emotions. The song speaks about love and death, with a couple on an old photo representing the timeless beauty of love that never dies.

The chorus of the song addresses the woman with a message of hope, telling her that when the evening begins, she hears the voices of the wind. These voices are tender and loving, reassuring her not to be sad, as everything is just beginning. The man she speaks to remains invisible, but their love creates a closeness that transcends physical barriers. The song speaks about the cycle of life and death and that even what rests in the deepest parts of the sea will one day return. The final line tells the woman that her difficult times will soon pass as she hears the voices in the wind.

Lyrics translated in english:

Black birds, red sky
Woman by the sea, smells flowers but her hand is empty
Sees a ship sink in a storm, hear people scream
She's not deserted, just alone
Voices in the wind, they call when the evening begins
Don't be sad Suzanne, it's all just beginning
Voices in the wind who are so tender and so loving
Don't be sad Suzanne, it's all just beginning
Smile in frightened eyes, blinded by the light
Tears like ice burn on her face
Couples in faded photos of the imagination
People who love each other never die
Voices in the wind, they call when the evening begins
Don't be sad Suzanne, it's all just beginning
Voices in the wind who are so tender and so loving
Don't be sad Suzanne, it's all just beginning
And the man she's talking to remains invisible
People who love each other are close
Voices in the wind, they call when the evening begins
Don't be sad Suzanne, it's all just beginning
Voices in the wind who are so tender and so loving
Don't be sad Suzanne, it's all just beginning

End part who is missing in this version:

What rests in deep seas will return once
Your hard time will soon be over
Voices in the wind, they call when the evening begins
Don't be sad Suzanne, it's all just beginning
Voices in the wind who are so tender and so loving
Don't be sad Suzanne It's all just beginning
Voices in the wind, they call when the evening begins
Don't be sad Suzanne

Black birds, red sky,

A woman by the seaside

Smelling at flowers, but her hand is empty,

She sees a ship going down in a storm

She hears people screaming.

She is not abandoned, she's only on her own.

[Refrain:]

Voices in the wind

Calling her, when evening sets in.

Don't be sad, Suzanne!

It is only beginning.

Voices in the wind,

So tender and so loving.

Don't be sad, Suzanne!

It is only beginning.

Frightened eyes, smiling,

Blinded by the light,

Tears like ice burn her face,

Couples on faded imaginary photographs.

People in love,

Never die.

[Refrain:]

And the man she is talking to

Remains invisible.

People in love

Are close to each other.

[Refrain:]

What is at rest in deep seas

Will once return.

Your hard time will be soon at an end.
