Tropfen Im Fluss
Werding Juliane Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
regne irgendwann herab
und vielleicht speis ich dann den Quell
aus dem der Fluß enspringt
alles was vergangen ist beginnt
und alles was vergangen ist beginnt
The lyrics of Werding Juliane's song "Tropfen Im Fluss" explore the metaphorical journey of a drop of water in a river. The first verse sets the scene, describing the slow and steady flow of the river and the seemingly unremarkable existence of the drop of water within it. The drop of water says that it sleeps when it is tired, nestled in the grass along the riverbank, and sometimes dreams of forgotten memories.
In the second verse, the drop of water dives to the bottom of the river and asks questions when it has them. Despite being just one drop among many, the drop believes that its questions still hold meaning and significance. It reflects on the uncertainty of whether there is a new beginning after the end and whether it is worthwhile to wait for eternity. However, the drop acknowledges that it only knows one thing for certain.
The chorus repeats the idea that the river flows slowly and the drop of water mostly drifts along with the passing of time. Sometimes, it experiences the excitement and chaos of a waterfall, and it becomes fragmented into a thousand parts, spreading everywhere. The drop of water continues its journey downstream until it eventually reaches the ocean, where the sun often rescues it from the waters.
In the final verse, the drop of water transforms into a cloud, effortlessly floating through the sky during the day. Eventually, it rains down and potentially replenishes the very source from which the river originates. This cyclical nature highlights that everything that has passed and been forgotten is given new life and begins again.
Overall, the lyrics of "Tropfen Im Fluss" reflect on the transient nature of life and the interconnectedness of all things. The drop of water represents an individual's place in the grand scheme of existence, finding meaning in its own questions and experiences, and ultimately contributing to the continual cycle of renewal and rebirth.
