More
Werner Müller and His Orchestra Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You're more than life to me
More than eternity
And the more I know of you
All the more I love you

I need you more each day
Much more than words can say
More than forevermore
I'll be yours

The silver moon will fade too soon
And bring the dawn when you'll be gone
Before you go, please let me know
That what you feel is really real

So do not grieve that I must leave
Because I live only for
Your love an' mine
More and more!

You're more than life to me
More than eternity
And the more I know of you
All the more I love you

I need you more each day
Much more than words can say
More than forevermore
I'll be yours

More than forevermore
I'll be yours!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Werner Müller's "More" depict a deep and profound love that goes beyond life and time. The singer expresses their intense feelings by stating that their significant other is more than life to them and more than eternity, meaning that their love will last longer than time itself. The more they get to know their partner, the more they love them, and they need them more with each passing day. The song offers a sense of the eternal and the infinite that can only be achieved through love.

The lyrics also speak about the transience of life, with the silver moon fading too soon, indicating that time is fleeting. The singer asks their beloved to let them know if their love is real, and not to grieve when they must leave, as they live for their love. The song conveys a sense of desperation to hold onto a love so pure and rare that it exceeds life itself. The singer's willingness to surrender to their beloved shows the depth of their love and commitment.

"More" is my favorite song. I like this version very much. The introduction builds up the song until the beautiful melody begins. The strings are rich & clear. The tempo is quick. The melody is played perfectly & repeatedly which satisfies the hunger I still have for this song after 45 years. London recordings are so high quality. Thank you, cto10121. "Irresistable" is, indeed, an excellent word to describe this song.

This was on the playlist of many "beautiful music" stations in the '70s. I haven't heard this version of More since the days of WRFM (105.1 MHz, New York). Thanks for the memory.
