Their most significant release was 1983's electro classic "Break Dancin' - Electric Boogie", a version of the Incredible Bongo Band's interpretation of the Shadows' "Apache". This "break" had long been a staple of the scratch mix DJs within the hip-hop community, and its familiarity was an important factor in its local popularity. Their only two Billboard Top 100 hits were "Let's Dance (Make Your Body Move)" and "Sing A Simple Song", in September 1981 and April 1982 respectively.

I'm 53 . I'm glad I got to live this era the early 80s in Bushwick , Brooklyn. Been here 43 yrs. Old school jams the best. Another time another era.

Ah, what a time to be alive. When crews who hated each other, willing to fight to death, would instead battle it out and squash the beef. I'm so happy to be from Gen X. 🎶
@kanecarter1008
I agree 100 on that super facts I missed that when we had problems we took it the dance floor😂😂😆
@barryschwarz
Me too. Gen X was all right. We got very lucky.

I'm 53 now, this kicked me into the world of breakdance when I was 13. Continued for years. Loved every minute. My musical tastes were defined by these tunes.
What we did then during crew challenges and what they do now at red bull and the world championships are off the grid. My jaw is on the floor watching them now.
I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat then or now.

The 80s was a magical time for the hip hop and electro scene.
With the exception of the Jazz era, there has been and never will be a musical era as influential and far reaching as the early hip hop and electro era.
And I was there to witness and to have been part of it.
I'm really proud of that.
