Maybe Tomorrow
Westlife Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Cant believe its over
That you're leaving
Weren't we meant to be?

Should've sensed the danger
Read the warnings
Right there in front of me
Just stop
Lets start it over
Couldn't I get one more try?

Maybe tomorrow you'll say that you're mine
You'll realize, I could change
I'm gonna show you I'm in it for life
I'll get you back someday
Maybe tomorrow

I forgot to be there
I was selfish
I can see that now

I should've got to known you
Should've held you
When your tears fell down

Just stop
Don't make me beg you
Tell me that you'll stay the night

Maybe tomorrow you'll say that you're mine
You'll realize, I could change
I'm gonna show you I'm in it for life
I'll get you back someday
I will find a way

Wait a minute
Just hear me out
This time I promise, I'll put you first

Turn around now
Your heart can't let you walk away
I'll do what it takes

Maybe tomorrow you'll say that you're mine
You'll realize (realize), I could change (I can change)
I'm gonna show you I'm in it for life
I'll get you back someday
Maybe tomorrow

There's so much I wanna say now
I just wanna make a life with you (don't walk away)
There's so much I wanna do now
I just wanna make love to you

Maybe tomorrow

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Westlife's song "Maybe Tomorrow" speaks about a broken relationship and the singer's regret for not doing enough to prevent their lover from leaving. The song starts with the singer expressing disbelief that the relationship is over and questions if they were not meant to be together. The first verse acknowledges the warning signs that the relationship was coming to an end, but the singer failed to sense the danger. The chorus of the song expresses the hope that their partner will realize that they can change and that they are committed to the relationship for the long haul. The chorus features a repeated phrase "Maybe tomorrow," signifying the hope for a second chance.

In the second verse, the singer acknowledges their selfishness and failed to be there for their partner in a time when they needed them most. The plea is to be given another chance, to be promised that their partner will stay the night, and they will do their utmost to make it work. The bridge is the singerโ€™s last attempt to convince their partner not to walk away and promises to put them first, and they will do whatever it takes to make it work.

Nothing beats classic Westlife music. Powerful ballads. I wish they can bring that back. I really really do๐Ÿ˜ญ

You didn't know!?
They've been back together!
Almost a decade!
They're going to sing at my Wedding someday!

@@lilianna9872 Dear Westlife separated in 2012. Got back together late in 2018/ Album in 2019. Released their 2nd reunion Album 2021.
My point is , since they have been back together they have lost their their Original Classic Westlife vibe. They are more into UpTempo music. It's acceptable but it can never match their original classic music style. And that is what I miss, Classic Westlife in every way.

I'm part of Gen Z I was born in the year 2005, I love Westlife songs from when I was 4-5 years old until today, and that's why I love their songs because my mother was a big fan of Westlife and I heard their songs from FM Radio before, but today their songs are now rare to hear on FM radio, and that's why I have so many Westlife songs that I downloaded in my phone, my wish is to meet you all, and Thanks, Westlife for being part of my life, and God bless you all!.
