Welsh Guards, Irish Guards, Scots Guards, Grenadier Guards. I believe that the bear skins used to be worn by Napoleon's Imperial Guard. Many moons ago, I spent time in the Canadian Army as a reservist. Foot drill in the Canadian Army is pretty much the same as that for the British Army, with a few minor variations.

The foot drill I see here isn't that bad. The pacing, the timings and the movements are correct. I've seen far, far worse. I've even seen videos of soldiers from the Household Cavalry performing the stand at ease and attention movements in an exaggerated way and it looks horrible compared to this.

I think it all boils down to the training skills of the drill sergeants and the RSM/CSM, and what departures from standard the OC is willing to accept.

When we went to the Tower Of London we were looking around when we came over from Australia 🇦🇺
I heard the boots on the stone path next minute a Guard shouted “ Make way for the Queens Guards “
Frightened the life out of me. But they were so good to watch

Is it just me? Every time I watch these guys marching the sound track for the soldiers guarding the wicked witch of West's castle come to mind.
Sorry, no disrespect but the Wizard of Oz was my son's favorite movie and I had to listen to it several times every week for over 30 years.
I smile every time I see these guys on a video -
The movie makes me cry as I miss my son - if you knew him you would understand.

I don't think these tourists are rude, they're ignorant.
They simply think is OK to touch the horses, make fun, and stupidities like these.
They should be educated that the Royal Guards are not a Circus, is an old British Institution, and if you are there, you need to understand this, or get the hell out and never come back.

The changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace is seen by millions every year. People are in shock and awe when they witness this daily event.
Personally after all the centuries that have passed you would think the guards would know how to change themselves!😂😂😂
(I know this is not the palace, I've been there
several times)
