The current version is an american band formed in 1998 by vocalist Tony Harnell and guitarist Mark Reale. Soon, bassist Bruno Ravel and drummer joined John O'Reilly and they released their first album in 1999. Harnell was the lead vocalist for TNT.
The original Westworld were a British three-piece rock band active in the late 1980s.
Named after the sci-fi film Westworld they were formed in 1986 by former Generation X (band) guitarist Bob "Derwood" Andrews and American vocalist Elizabeth Westwood. The line up was completed by drummer Nick Burton.
Visually the band were styled in a way reminiscent of comic book art and musically they were a blend of classic 1950s rock and roll, glam and punk updated with beatboxes and sequencer. They became an instant success with their debut single Sonic Boom Boy reaching number 11 in the UK charts on February 1987; this was accompanied by a memorable comic-book styled video. They had one more top 40 hit Banana Bamboo which reached number 37 on May 1987. They released three albums before moving to the Arizona desert in 1992 to form the band Moondogg.

Why my heart belongs to you
Well I don't know everyday
Ow you take my breath away
'Cause I'm flying high
I'm a rocket in the sky
Sonic Boom Boy
Ha Sonic Boom Boom Boy
If the stars are in your eyes
They come to me out all the time
It's coming back to me now
And It's not gonna slow down
'Cause I'm flying high
I'm a rocket in the sky
Sonic Boom Boy
Ha Sonic Boom Boom OW
Ow
No one would believe me
They say it would be so easy
To say what's on my mind
I'll be round some time
'Cause I'm flying high
I'm a rocket in the sky
Sonic Boom Boy
Ha Sonic Boom Boom Boy
I'm flying high
I'm a rocket in the sky
Oh yeah
I'm flying high
I'm a rocket in the sky
Sonic Boom Boy
Ha Sonic Boom Boom Boy
Sonic Boom Boy
The lyrics to Westworld's "Sonic Boom Boy" express the intense feeling of falling head over heels in love with someone. The lyrics begin with the singer expressing disbelief that their heart belongs to this person, but they are completely enamored nonetheless. The song continues with the singer describing their soaring feelings of love, as they feel like a "rocket in the sky" and are experiencing a "sonic boom" of emotions. The chorus repeats this sentiment, with the lyrics "Sonic Boom Boy" being used as a sort of exclamation of awe at the intense feelings the singer is experiencing.
Throughout the song, the singer also mentions their fear that others won't believe them or won't understand their feelings. They express a desire to tell their beloved what's on their mind, but also acknowledge that it may not be easy to do. Overall, the lyrics capture the essence of a heady, overwhelming love that takes hold of the singer without warning and sends them soaring.
