No more
I just wanna see your face at home
Home
You can't do me right
So I decide that
No more
I just wanna see you up and out
Out of the door
I'm not living right
So I decide that
I don't wanna be your girl no more
No more
I won't hide the ways I've tried
It's just not right
It's killing me tonight
In the song "Don't Wanna Be Your Girl" by Wet, the lyrics express the feelings of a woman who has reached a breaking point in her relationship. The repetition of "no more" emphasizes her resolve to end things with her partner. She doesn't want to continue being associated with her partner as she wants to see his face at home. This phrase symbolizes that she wants to deal with the reality rather than escapism. The next verse reveals her partners' lack of effort and negligence in the relationship, leading to her decision to leave the relationship. She emphasizes that her partner cannot do her right, and she doesn't want to continue being with him. The phrase "I'm not living right" implies that being with her partner leads to an unhealthy lifestyle. She emphasizes that she wants to see him out of the door and is determined to move on with her life.
The chorus repeats three times, creating the feeling of throwing down the gauntlet for herself. She won't hide the ways she has tried, which conveys that she has put in considerable effort into making the relationship work but to no avail. The phrase "it's killing me tonight" indicates that this has been going on for a while, and she can't take it anymore.
The song title, which is repeated throughout the song, is the most striking line. It sets the tone for the song's message and its lyrical content.

This song helped me file for divorce from a mentally abusive man that never loved me, and destroyed all semblance of self confidence and self worth I ever had. Almost 4 years later, and life is amazing. I hear this song now, and truly can't imagine being that girl again.
