Still Run
Wet Lyrics

Tell me, baby, did it leave desire?
Did it feel so cold in the rain?
I don't know how this world works, but I've always felt the same
I wanna go where the sun is shining and no one knows my name
Run away
It's the hardest thing that I've ever done
It's the hardest thing that I've ever done
To love somebody and still run
I'm going, it's no surprise, I'll take a fast street out of L.A
Tell me, baby, did you need somebody?
There was no one left to complain
I don't know what this life holds, but I've always felt the same
I wanna go where the sun is shining and no one knows my name
Run away
It's the hardest thing that I've ever done
To love somebody and still run
It's the hardest thing that I've ever done
To love somebody and still run
But you weren't there for me
And that was all that I ever needed
When I see you, I see you hate me
When I look at you, I still see my family
But you weren't there for me
And that was all that I ever needed
When I see you, I see you hate me
When I look at you, I still see my family
It's the hardest thing that I've ever done
To love somebody and still run
It's the hardest thing that I've ever done
To love somebody and still run
To love somebody and still run
To love somebody
To love somebody
The lyrics to the song Still Run by Wet, featuring Starchild & The New Romantic, speak to the universal human desire for freedom and escape. The songwriter longs to be in a place where no one knows them, where the sun is shining, and life is simple. They question whether love can survive such a desire, and whether it is possible to love someone and still want to run away. The song speaks to the tension between relationships and our individual desires.
The first verse sets the scene for the song, with the songwriter expressing their longing for a place where they can escape the world and be free. They want to be anonymous and experience life without anyone knowing who they are. However, the songwriter is mindful of the fact that escaping from reality isn't always the answer. They admit to not knowing how the world works, but they know that they've always felt the same.
The second verse speaks about running away from a particular person, someone the songwriter needed but who wasn't there for them. The songwriter feels betrayed by this person and sees them as someone who hates them. Yet still, when they look at this person, they see their own family. The song ends with the repeated refrain of how hard it is to love somebody and still want to run away.

Wet: one of those hidden treasures the world hasn’t discovered yet. This band is ahead of our time. They sound beautiful. I really don’t understand why this hasn’t gone viral.
