After an inspiring trip to Kalalau on the island of Kauai in 2010, the brothers (Nate “Frogg” and Travis Wheeland) set out to write and record their first album “Toast to the Coast”. Combining forces with their friends (Marcus Agundes and Brandon Lark), they began developing their sound and performing at venues all over OC. Recently in May 2012 their album was released along with the music video for their first single “Sand in My Sheets” which has since been added to retail playlists in stores such as Hollister Co. Their second music video was released in October 2012, featuring rising surf star Tia Blanco.
Over the past year, Wheeland Brothers have opened shows for Donovan Frankenreiter and Collie Buddz among others and have recently performed at iconic California venues such as The Troubadour, The Catalyst and the House of Blues and will be playing The Roxy Theatre on December 1st.

Weather the Storm
Wheeland Brothers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Daydreaming to the sounds
Sun is setting in my head
Riptide is pulling me to bed
I wish I could fly and I could chase all the clouds away
Break away and make into another sunny day
The kind that makes you jump for joy out of your bed
But we could toy around and lay around so lazy instead
I lay it back, I play it back
Again and again, again and again, again and again
Sail, sail away with me
We'll leave our luxuries
And throw them to the sea ayy
And we with the rollin' tide
Will wash our worries dry
Anchored by my side ayy
Follow me to the shore
I've got what you're lookin' for
We could share this shelter from the storm
Palm frond, fire's on just to keep you warm
Weather the storm whether or not you're all that I got
And all I need and you're so much more, so much more
Yeah yeah you're so much more, so much more
Sail, sail away with me
We'll leave our luxuries
And throw them to the sea ayy
And we with the rollin' tide
Will wash our worries dry
Anchored by my side ayy
We, we can weather the storm
Together we're something more
Resting on the shore
Sail, sail away with me
We'll leave our luxuries
And throw them to the sea ayy
And we with the rollin' tide
Will wash our worries dry
Anchored by my side ayy
We, we can weather the storm
Whether or not you're all that I got
All I need and so much more
So much more, so much more
Yeah yeah you're so much more, so much more
So much more, so much more,
Yeah yeah you're so much more, so much more
The song "Weather The Storm" by Wheeland Brothers paints a vivid picture of a peaceful and lazy day spent daydreaming, wishing and watching the setting sun. The first verse describes the singer's desire to escape into a world of endless sunshine, where the palm trees sway in the wind and life is carefree. The chorus urges the listener to abandon their material possessions and set sail with the singer, to weather the storm of life together, and to find comfort and solace in each other's company.
The second verse suggests a longing for a deeper connection, as the singer invites the listener to join him on the shore and share a shelter from the storm. The imagery of palm fronds and a blazing fire create a sense of warmth and security, while the repetition of the phrase "so much more" suggests a longing for something beyond the material, perhaps a spiritual or emotional connection.
Overall, the song encourages the listener to let go of their fears and insecurities and to find strength in each other's company. It is a celebration of the simple joys of life and the power of human connection to weather even the toughest storms.
